A buddy told me today that an RN friend of ours said two new hospitals are being built around north Phoenix... anyone know anything about this??? I am hoping it might open up the job market a bit....

I live in north phoenix and I haven't heard anything about this. My dad is a real estate agent & home inspector, so we usually get news about new builds pretty quickly. If you could be more specific, I could probably give you a better answer. I'm not quite sure where they would even put 2 new hospitals. Depending on how north, maybe the anthem area...? Some land exists out there, but I don't know what it is zoned for or the size of the parcels.

The best way to determine the answer to this would be to see what hospital they are thinking it would be (banner, etc) and ask the hospital administration if they are building something new. Also, checking for building permits, zoning applications, etc would be a way to get some info.

Would be nice if they were building something right now. I'd love to work there after graduation! :)

The only new hospital I know about is being built outside of Kingman. They are actively recruiting nurses and scheduled to open Oct. 09.

there are a couple of large add on towers being built in Phoenix at Phoenix Childrens Hospital and Banner.

Jen,

They have started the process of putting in a new facility in the Vistancia neighborhood south of Lake Pleasant. They have started the initial process of building the facility and I have been in contact with Administration over proposals for the first purchases of equipment. I know admin is have a meeting with the Doctors that will be working there early in the month of June. Hope this helps you out!!!

That's the area I may have heard about - the Surprise area.

Banner is opening a new facility in Queen Creek called Banner Ironwood. It is

set to open in November. They are already advertising a few new jobs. It will

be small at first and Banner plans on hiring current employees that want to

transfer to that side of town.

At least it should open up at least 50 or 60 jobs in the future.
