TV ad has no one from my hospital

Published

OK, how annoying. Contrived, fabricated TV ad for my ER has no one recognizable to me. Ugh. Their promises are unrealistic as well. Pathetic.

Wow I can't even imagine an advertisement for a hospital of all places, guess there are some perks to living in little old NZ!

I remember the days when hospitals didn't advertise. The commercialization of healthcare is a bad thing, in my opinion. Back in those days it was illegal for both drug companies and lawyers to advertise on TV. I think those things are having negative impacts on our culture

LOL...I remember those days too. Now half the commercials on TV seem to be for one drug or another, showing happy, smiling people walking along a beach, all thanks to a prescription for that magic pill. Just "ask your doctor if is X is right for you...", and all your problems are solved. Then the other half of the commercials are for the lawyers who advertise 1-800 numbers for people who took the magic pill.

LOL - I understand your reaction. But, from a marketing standpoint, it is always preferable to use "talent" (models, actors, etc) than employees because (duh) employees are free to leave and may occasionally get fired. When that happens, they have to scrap the whole campaign and start over. Just imagine how bad that would be if a recognizable face in the ad... was fired for bad performance or changed jobs and is now working for the competition. Lots of $ 'wasted'.

Probably a good thing, really. I wouldn't want some nut to recognize me and possibly stalk me, or worse.

That happened to me. I was on a 12 ft tall poster they used at job fairs, and continued using it for quite some time after I was fired.
