Hi all, I am starting nursing classes next semester (I am currently a Junior and unfortunately am having to attend a couple more years before I receive my BSN). I was wondering if anyone knew of any hospitals within, say, a one hour radius of Knoxville that offers tuition reimbursement if you agree to work for them for a few years after you graduate. I currently volunteer at Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center and I know that they don't. Thanks for any input!

I know a lot of hospitals require you to work for them a certain amount of time before you qualify for reimbursement. At my hospital (different state) you have to be full or part time for 6 months before you qualify. But, they don't require a length of service after you are done with school. That's how I paid for Nuraing school. Good luck to you.

Echoing PP, many hospitals require you to have worked for them a year or more previously before they start paying education benefits. Tuition reimbursement for previous education has gone the way of the dodo.

I have 2 classmates that are receiving "scholarships" to cover their nursing education from local rural hospitals.. they have both signed a 2 year contract with those hospitals for employment following graduation.
This said, you may want to talk to other nursing students, the nursing educators at your school, or rural hospitals that may have a more difficult time recruiting nurses.
Best of luck.
