Tweety I find the same thing happens to me

Dianah glad your friend just had heat stroke

Stars glad you got a break today

Despite being off work for a day, there was no great number of emails or anything urgent I needed to do, thankfully.  Was actually a surprisingly slow day.  Rest of the day pretty ordinary, exercised after work

Today should be pretty ordinary too.  Will do the grocery shopping.  Will also likely get reservations for the restaurant for Sat for the over 50 group, since I'm hosting

Weather will be cool again, in the upper 60s with rain most of the day.  We could definitely use the rain.

Good morning!

Joe, hope you have a good day.

Dianah, good that your friend is okay and out of the hospital. Good thing you were able to help out.  Florida has more lax rules and we can renew online until we're 80 when we have to pass a vision test.  I believe if you have incidents or tickets it might be different.

Stars, sad that Nannie has such short term memory issues.  Glad your SIL was able to take her.  Again, I'm impressed at what the relationship with her MIL must have been before you moved there and the falling out between the brothers.  Must have been decent if she comes over and bathes her and spends time with her.

Got a notice that SlowBro's eye doctor is moving and they don't have a replacement so I should come in for an appointment before he leaves.

Got a notice that I got a letter from the insurance company that I have run by the state sent me a "depopulation" notice that I must address.  Never got it in snail mail and can't find it on the website.  Waiting to hear from my agent.  I think the rule is that an outside company makes me an offer with 20% of my current premium I must take it and get off (depopulate myself) the state's insurance plan.

This with an impending hurricane passing by and my upcoming trip seems to have made me a bit anxious today.

It's always something.  LOL

Tweety~ Hope you are not in the evac area! We are supposed to get storms Thurs and Fri ... rain, wind, and the whole shmear. Lots of storms whirling around down there in Fla, and out there in the ocean, coming up this way. I don't expect this particular area will be hit terribly bad, being inland. Usually Charlotte gets the brunt of things. They are southwest of us. Plus we are not near any bodies of water or in a flood plane.

And yes, it is lucky that SiL tries to help with Nannie. She actually has such a busy schedule, I'm afraid she will burn out; she also takes care of her mother (in a nursing home) and her grand-dgt, and part time work at the ABC store, and lots of other things. She is finally going to get her MRI, on the 8th of Oct. They had her scheduled for a scan of her knees and then a scan of her hips. She had to squawk to get them to look at her lower back, and she has a hard knot of muscle back there in the lumbar area. They had her scheduled for one scan (MRI?) of her knees on the 1st of Oct., and then another of her hips on the 21st! But now they are going to cover it ALL because she called someone and asked why on Earth, after all these weeks and weeks of PT, etc, with NO relief, why would they make her have those appts so spread out? Fortunately she got someone who saw it made more sense to have all areas scanned at the same time.

Nannie is up. w00t? 😐 Already has started with the sleeve adjustments and wanting me to look at how well the colors go together 🙄 as if I didn't just get her dressed. OY!

She thought a skink on the outside of the screen was inside, but it wasn't. I did get one of the 'lost' skinks who was inside, to go out....it just happened to be by the door, which I opened and then took an abrupt stomp right behind it, which made it run right out to the patio to get away from me. Ta-dah!

In the last two days I have become so slothful that I have several messes to clean up where I have just tossed stuff down and ignored it after that. I was doing so well, too, and now my 'other side' has emerged. All the wastebaskets are over-flowing and the recycling has been sharing part of the table because too much stuff in the container for it. More dishes to do. To heck with any laundry, though. And I need to get the mail and stuff sorted out, as the papers are starting to accumulate....kind of like it is The Twilight Zone, with it's own itinerary.

😂🤣 Guess it's too early to start looking forward to 😴 Nannie's bedtime 🙄.... because it's not for 8 + 1/2 hours. Not sure if she will nap any, yet.  Fingers crossed!

Okay, have to psych myself up to get things.....less disturbing to me! 😝

Hi. A nice sunny day here, up to 70. I think rain is moving in tomorrow. We are heading to the laundromat shortly to use the big machines to wash the big rugs in the dining room and living room. Will be playing trivia online tonight.

dh was feeling under the weather yesterday which he attributed to the bbq pork we ate Sunday. He seems to have such a tender tummy, as I call it. He eats yogurt and fiber, but also a lot of processed food.

Yes, combining MRIs makes so much more sense. They do seem to be not as unpleasant or loud as they used to be. I hope SiL gets answers.

I think I need a vision test for the next time I renew my license, which is not for a few years. I do try to avoid the DoL, which is what our state calls others' DMV. Always, such long lines, but the people, when you get to the counter are so nice.

Our house and car insurance had sizable increases, and we seldom get the scary weather. Just an occasional tree, LOL.

Dianah, that was a crazy story about your friend. Im glad all came out well in the end.

Okie-dokie! I emptied all the wastebaskets and recycling stuff, AND THEN I got REALLY into cleaning the kitchen because I had a BIG epiphany! 💥💥 !

Where the breadbox has been sitting for 8 years.....Is right where the sunset shines on it for a few hours every afternoon. Might (ya think?!) be a reason for bread to get moldy, since it is so warm in that spot, plus it is next to the stove and oven....more warmth. So I cleaned off all the counters and put the breadbox on the counter near the fridge, and moved the microwave over to the other corner beside where the breadbox WAS, and just left S+P shakers, coffee-maker, and a few other things there that wouldn't be hurt by some sunshine. Ta-DAH! I tried to find an emoji of a light bulb for my epiphany,  but I either missed it or there isn't one there.

Then, of course, I had to wipe down all the counters, and then I noticed many years of finger smudges at the corners, around the knobs of the upper (white) cabinets....so I soft-scrubbed them. Then of course I had to soft-scrub the white sink which is old and yellows easily. So it looks quite neat and tidy in the kitchen now and I feel a great deal of relief! I still want to sweep and wash the kitchen floor, and I may save that to do later on, after 'traffic' (me) ceases to be in the kitchen.

I am having to do some laundry, though, because SiL had tossed the clothes she took off Nannie prior to her shower, and the washcloths and towels she'd used....all of it, into the empty tub! I put it all in the washing machine. Since there were already a few things in the washer awaiting their turn, I added more towels from the kitchen, and there was a full load, so I started that up.

Nannie has blessedly been sleeping the whole time! Aaaahhhh! I love it!

I don't know why I've been thinking it's Friday! But, no! After checking on my cellphone I found out it is Toooozdaie!  On Thursday Chatty CG will be here. I want to take several of the really BIG trash bags and start tossing things from the upstairs front bedroom (to eventually be the 'guest room'...hahaha....if, if, IF we ever have any guests.) and there are some things in piles in the 'formal' living-room, which has been collecting stuff from the other rooms when we moved them around months and months ago. Plenty of things to go into the trailer parked at the side of the house for a future trip to the dump.

So, at 6 PM I will wake Nannie up by turning on the local news, and then feed her some supper. I'm very glad I could do something about that mess of a kitchen. One of these days I will get into the cabinets and rearrange what passes for a  tiny little 'pantry', and also straighten out the cups, bowls and containers with lids, for leftovers. It is one hellacious tumble of all of that. I used to keep it neat and had the bowls nested by size, but hubby never paid attention to that and placed things in there all higgeldy-piggeldy, so I just gave up and left it that way.

So Nannie has the power to get MY powers revved up and going, when she is sleeping away the afternoons! Then I can get stuff done without her being all restless. She sometimes says she 'wants to help' cleaning, but she is definitely not able, and she pouts because it makes her realize (somewhere in the hidden recesses of her brain) that all she does is sit.

Th-th-th-that's all, folks!

Yes, when Gma comes into the kitchen when I'm cooking/cleaning I think she probably thinks she should help. She used to ask if there was anything she could do but she is beyond that now. And of course it was easier to just do it myself. Not too long ago we could give her towels to fold when they came out of the dryer but she doesn't comprehend that anymore.

The weather app says it's 82 degrees out there and partly sunny but that we could have storms tonight.

It's still Summer here got up to 90, currently 88.

George says the beaches got an evacuation order due to the storm surge that might happen, but he lives on the third floor so he's going to stay put.

At 5pm we moved out of the cone of uncertainty and we are not going to get a direct hit, but it will go up the Gulf beside us and hit the panhandle.  Our blessing is someone else's misery.

I met my dog sitter today.  He doesn't drive because of poor vision from diabetes and I had to go to Tampa to pick him up and take him back.  Traffic was busy but moving.  He is very nice and I think is going to work out.

Get this.  After me washing the comforter and the sheets, getting a rug to put over the stained one, putting in a new blind and paying someone to mount it who broke the window and me getting it fixed for $250 the sitter says he likes to sleep on the couch and won't be using the bedroom.

I indeed have to switch to private insurance on my next renewal because I got on offer and it's going to be $1,000 a year more.  I'll have to make a deposit to my escrow because they won't have enough to pay it.   God knows how much more the year after and beyond.  This isn't sustainable to me but I'm powerless.  I'll never be able to retire.
