Good day, all!
Tweety, I usually forget to take a "fresh fecal sample" to the vet. Maybe I'm subconsciously trying to avoid it ?
Stars, new glasses = cause for celebration!
dianah, doing music at the apple ranch sounds like a pleasant day, and then a day to rest up after all that loading/unloading. Hubs' aunt and uncle owned an apple orchard for a few years and they held a couple of the annual family reunions there. Autumn is a beautiful thing in Indiana and hanging out at the apple orchard was fun.
Twin A wanted to have a fire last night night so we made a fire in the fire pit and had s'mores. Hubs was in a generally grouchy state, saying he didn't feel good (sometimes I wonder if he ever feels good but maybe that's just me being a grouch). But he did finally come out and sit by the fire for a bit. We tried using binoculars to look at Jupiter (it's closer to Earth than usual right now) but it wasn't too impressive.
Stepson is being released today but *says* he wants to go straight to the inpatient facility closer to home, where he his own psychiatrist and therapist are. We shall see. He has communicated with his sister and with his cousin's wife. He is apparently aware of the petition for guardianship and not angry. This is interesting.
Good afternoon!
Joe, I hope that you have a good day.
If I didn't have heat when it's 40 degrees out they would be hearing from me. That's cold.
Ado, I can hardly keep up with your step son's situation. Hope it works out for him.
I got up at 4AM and was trying to get back to sleep when old dog started barfing. Cleaned that up and then got anxious about the storm.
I will not be evacuating and will ride it out in my own home. My brother in law in Tampa is my plan B. Best friend may come over since they already turned off his water. But he's prepared so he says he'll stay for now. I think he's concerned that once he leaves he can't just go back until the bridges reopen.
This morning's 5AM track had it right over my house, but the 11AM track has shifted to the east "significantly" and if this trend continues I'll be happy. Sad for anyone getting it though.
Much of my prep is getting ready for the inevitable power outage. Got nonperishable foods and snacks.
Work has activated the hurricane team to arrive at 5pm this evening and not leave until the storm passes which will be Wednesday into Thursday morning. If I got to work Thursday I'll have to work 4 12 hour shifts in a row. I can barely do two much less four. But it's the my my relief commitment and my scheduled weekend collide.
Thanks for listening. I'm less anxious now that I'm ready and that it's shifted east. Need to do some housecleaning.
Y'know when I said that every day feels like Saturday? Well, Oddly enough it has now switched to every day feeling like Tuesday; it was Tuesday every day for the past 5 days. Who knows why? Not me! But at least I am correct today and it really IS Tuesday. Imagine that.
Joe, please ship me a Thai sampler plate; I just don't want anything really spicy-hot. Thanx! I used to go to a Thai restaurant in Nashville all the time, and it was soooo good! Got my mouth watering now!
Tweety, I hope you DON'T have to end up working four 12's in a row. That is brutal!
Not to be bragging, because I certainly don't have anything to do with it, but we have blue, bloo, bleu skies, not one single cloud anywhere! It is mid-70's with the lovliest breeze! I do believe we are supposed to get rain on Friday, but don't know if it'll be a humdinger or not.
Time for supper; may be back later.
PS, Braves won 8-0 last night!
Hello all!
Hurricane tracker, yes, shows Ian veering eastward. You will likely still feel some of the storm's brunt, Tweety. Hopefully effects will be reduced as it continues to veer away from your area. Stay safe!
I spent about 30 min at previous place of work, just touching base: I donated a cath lab primer (thick book!) for employees, and got to see the refurbished/upgraded cath lab in action. It was good to see familiar faces. Then I got some groceries and when I got home, we had leftovers for lunch. I then made some Crack Slaw, for us to eat in the next couple days.
In about 10 min we will go online for a Zoom call with the ds's. It is 103 degrees out, and clear. By Thurs and Friday, temps should dip to the 90's.
Have a good afternoon!

Tweety that's good that your sister is there
Ado glad your niece is able to help out
Dianah I hope things cool off there
NJ22 that's odd that someone would do that
Stars I'm glad the toenail trimming went smoothly
Was a good work day yesterday, mostly quiet, although a bit of a scramble getting someone some DME for surgery. Hopefully today will be equally quiet without any need to scramble
Tomorrow might have to help cover for a coworker in Florida, we'll see how bad things get where she is at
Rest of the day was quiet. Went for a walk as my legs were probably too sore for the exercise bike. Took a warm bath to help relax the muscles
Tonight have dining out with the church group, we're doing to a Thai place
Think it will get up to 60 today, was in the 40s last night. Will have to check and see when the building heat will be turned out, it's certainly getting cold enough
