Hi. Overcast, in the 50s here. Rained most of the day yesterday. We got up early to drop dh's pickup at the dealership to look at the transmission. I hope it's not too serious, but I bet it will be $$$. dh is still feeling yuck, but no fever. He asked me if a telehealth appointment would help, I said I didn't think so if its a virus, but now I think it might just make him feel better to tell someone how poorly he feels.
I got a facial yesterday that felt really nice. The aesthetician is really funny but was concerned about the residual bruising on my face. I said it's OK, and now I can tell people she caused it instead of admitting I was just clumsy. If course, I won't do that. My one knee is still sore and scabbed.
MiL went home from the hospital last night. I get everything 3rd hand, so I have no idea if she has a diagnosis or what. I still think it's her emphysema. 50 years of cigarettes will do that. She quit a while ago, but not soon enough. Or, it could be a heart thing. She was supposed to have cataract surgery tomorrow, but thats been rescheduled to next week.
I'm procrastinating about finishing cutting some hardware wire. It's really killing my hand and aggravating the tendinitis in my thumb. But I want it done by tomorrow. Sigh.
Still on my phone but power came back last night! No internet yet but happy to have power.
Best friend went to his condo to meet the insurance adjuster and the packers/movers. He's putting his possessions in storage and hopefully insurance will cover it.
Yesterday I found a vet open with power and time to euthanize his cat that was still hanging in there after eight days.
I spend a good deal if my day emptying my spare bedroom and bathroom so he can move in. Then unpacked some of his stuff and found room in my kitchen. Going to his place to get some stuff he isn't storing like food and clothes. It's never ending.
Had a doctor's appointment and she renewed the benzo to help me sleep.
I'm so glad you have power again, Tweety. Blessings on your friend with all this to cope with.
And glad that you're healing, J22. Good that your MiL is home.
Joe, there may be something to the excitement/anxiety angle. I always like to have a something to look forward to but it does usually involve stepping out of my comfort zone (which I admit is pretty narrow).
We have not been able to see the comet. Maybe there is just too much light where we are.
White chicken chili is a favorite of mine. I made some this evening, although I didn't have any corn to put in it and only had chickpeas for beans. I made cornbread and it was nice to have the hot soup since it is getting chilly tonight.
The kitties are letting me know they need to eat so I'll stop blathering now.

Tweety hope you were able to find ice and that the power comes back on soon
Stars I'm glad you have the memory of his peaceful passing
Hi Ado
A good day at work yesterday, not too busy and nothing unexpected. Perhaps partially because it was holiday. We'll see how long this trend will continue
Rest of the day was fairly dull. Had time during work to do laundry. After work stopped at the store and exercised
Have been doing much better at controlling anxiety lately, but I realize now how anxiety can add excitement, along with the negative things. Which is probably why it's a hard habit to get out of
Today nothing unusual going on, will do the grocery shopping after work
Will be even cooler today, in the upper 40s with rain in the morning. Will gradually warm up throughout the week
