Good morning!
It actually got into the upper 30's here. It was 38 when I was just out. It was very windy and extremely cold for this Floridian,
I dropped Waffles to the vet for her teeth cleaning. Waffles was not letting me sleep in and was very unhappy I didn't feed her.
No real other plans. I'll have to pick Waffles up later and wait for her call, so with it being cold, I'll stick close to home and maybe go back to bed.
"They" say it is 45 degrees, but even though the wind is coming from the Southwest, there is a very sharp icy edge to it, so it feels more like 35 degrees to me. I can't get Tinker's sweater to stay on her.....she slips out of it too easily, and it doesn't accommodate the harness so I can clip the leash on it. Well, at least it isn't too cold for her to go outside 'unclothed', but I will have to get her something for when the weather does get colder. Can't do that until I get my SS check at the end of the month. I am in a breath-holding mode again re finances. Maybe I should buy a mega-millions ticket for tonight's drawing......I would settle for a mega-thousands win, or even a $1,000 win, but sure can't count on any of it! Oh well! But, wouldn't it be a nice surprise to be lifted out of this $$$ rut!
Heard a tremendous crash this AM and I never have found out what it was....I thought at first it must've been Nannie falling in her room, but she was still tucked in and she was sound asleep. It sounded like it came from inside the house, but I made the rounds and also looked out all the windows and doors, but there was nothing evident that could've made that sound. I know I wasn't dreaming it because it made Tinker bark. So, I guess it will remain a mystery!
I did get my clean clothes put away yesterday, but alas, the dishes in the sink keep multiplying, so there's that to take care of, and of course Nannie's laundry, too. I think I already said earlier this month that at least I don't have to take the wash down to a creek, and use the rocks to scrub out any stains. ("Always look on the bright side of life" Wasn't that a Monty Python song?)
Maybe I can also work on separating what needs shredding (name/address/acct #'s and identifying info) from what I can just put in the recycling.....if I can sit here in the den and do it quietly enough to NOT wake Nannie up, because she is on her way to The Land of Nod, and I'd like her to stay there this afternoon! Maybe, maybe. But you know me.....always ready to drag my heels and procrastinate! So, we'll see.
Stars, back in my corporate days your type of computer problems were referred to as "a nut loose behind the keyboard" 🤣 (sorry, couldn't resist)
I also find that accomplishing something is a mood-booster. Though sometimes I can't get myself to care even that much.
We had frost on the windshield yesterday morning. I think it was down to the high 20s. I drove to Dallas yesterday afternoon for a meeting today. Realized I didn't want to be driving after dark so left earlier than I'd originally planned. The meeting ended at 2 so I drove home rather than stay to have dinner with everyone. Even with the obligatory stop at Buc-ees I was home by 5. Driving in busy traffic on the interstate is nerve-wracking for me. You know those concrete barriers on the side of the highway in construction zones? I feel like a moth pulled to a flame and that I have to fight to keep going forward. I *know* there's enough room but I still feel as if I'm about to crash. Oy.
By this afternoon there were kids playing in the outdoor pool at the hotel. The temp was probably low 70s.
By the time I'd been home 45 minutes I had put together a meal and unloaded, then loaded, the dishwasher. Still haven't brought the suitcase in from the car, though.
Gma was doing her usual talking-to-whomever and I heard her say, "My family ... my people... they're all good." So at least that seemed like a positive thing for her to be thinking. Later I heard, "I don't like it. But they do"🤷♀️

Stars I hope yesterday was productive for you
Tweety the snow was actually not bad here, just 2 or 3 inches worth
NJ22 that sounds like it would have been an interesting case
Work was good yesterday, busier in the afternoon than expected but still good. Was able to get laundry done during the day. After work was quiet, just ran an errand or two and exercised
Today will likely be similar at work. After work will do the grocery shopping
Will be another cooler day in the low 40s
