Good morning.
Joe, hope your week shapes up to be not so bad.
How glad the eye exam went well and is done.
Ado, I have been to friends doctor's appointments that I didn't need to go but to provide moral support. It's just what friendsl's and family do. Hope the dog is okay.
Stars, sorry Nannie jimust doesn't cooperate with her incontinence care. That's a lot if work.
I'm finishing up the free breakfast that the hotel provides. Just barely as they closed not lo g after I sat down. I slept decently enough. Was anxious most of the day.
Family seems the same. Dad is shrinking with arthritis and mom stumbles around with a bad knee and back. But haven't changed much in six months. Dad is 90 now. Hard to wrap around that. The house looked clean and organized. I don't have any concerns.
We played Jeopardy and dad was able to read and answer some hard questions that my sister and I missed. Also played Wheel of Fortune.
Good day all!
Joe, good that your week has started at a nice pace. Enjoy book club!
Tweety, good to read your parents "haven't changed much in six months." Sounds like a good visit so far. I will often get a few Jeopardy answers but not many. I would NOT be a good/entertaining/winning contestant, that's for sure!
Today I have an appointment to get my Covid booster. Then need to go to the grocery store. Then need to do a couple loads of laundry. Such a big day, LOL!
Have a good day!
I was determined to get up earlier today, and go out to do a few errands. However, when I woke up around 8:30 AM, I just rolled over and went back to sleep. Now it is just after 12 noon, and I am sitting in bed with the laptop and a cup of coffee. First thing I did, though, was take Momo down to the den and put down her breakfast. She has a pee-pad down there I was worrying that her bladder must be full and I sure didn't want her to pee on my bed again. Haven't been back down to the den yet to see the pee-pad, but I am thinking she probably did everything she was supposed to do after she ate.
Now I have to summon the needed energy/motivation to get up and get dressed. After Nannie is up and has her AM meds and yogurt, I have go out to deposit a payment at the bank, because her credit card bill is due today. Also need to stock up on the dog food, cranapple juice and more yogurts, plus the ever-dwindling supply of #6 Long pads Nannie uses. Being the Supply Sargent kind of sucks sometimes, because when I think we can go another day before I get more...I realize it ain't likely. Pooey!
So, time to stop dawdling, pull up my "big-girl panties" and get back to the responsible adult-ing called for. Bleh.
Good morning. Sunny and cool here. An electrician came by to look at what needs to be done. His recommended repairs are more extensive than what the power company said. He will send a bid. dh also had him look at the fancy ceiling fan that went "pop" when the power company detached and reattached the line. He thinks it may be toast. Oh well. The insurance adjuster called yesterday and I told him there was more damage than we thought. I sent him some pictures. He was vague about whether he would come to look himself. dh called the roofer to come and attach a tarp over the roof damage to prevent rain from getting it. I am leaving soon to get a massage and go by my pharmacy, then groceries. yuck.
Annie, I am sorry about your dog. What does your sister want in terms of support? It can be nice when someone with some healthcare experience acts as a second set of ears during provider visits and discharge.
Have fun at book club, Joe!
Tweety, it seems like a low-key visit, which is nice that you don't have to be there only during a crisis. 90! wow!
Jumpin' Jehosaphats! I cleaned out the cupboard that is a pantry of sorts. I could not believe how many outdated things were crammed into the top two shelves, in the partially hidden back of the shelves which goes to the right. I was hoping to be able to donate stuff, but with use by dates of 2019 through 2021, it tells me that all hubby has been doing when putting away groceries is to push them back and back, and back! I mean, we had 3 boxes of grits, (he kept saying he wanted some grits, so I would get them!) too many canned goods, 100 year old cereal, and lots of etc's. I will bet that I have thrown out at least about 50+ lbs of useless food. Nothing much to salvage from there! Tsk! The trash barrel will be very heavy this Friday when they do pickup. If I was very, very good, I would empty all the boxes out and put them in recycling, and I could pour out the cans of old food and wash them out and recycle them. I'm sorry, but I'm not feeling it today. Now I have to go finish trash-bagging the rest of the stuff, which is a lot of cans and jars. EGADS!! Lots of room up there in those cupboards.
Then I have to put together something for Nannie's supper. She has been deeply asleep all afternoon, so all my crashing and banging around in the kitchen didn't disturb her 'beauty sleep'.
Turned on the TV for Network news. As the wicked witch said, "Oh, what a world, what a world!"
Yes, it's me AGAIN!
For supper, Nannie had sesame chicken with lo mein noodles, which she loves....It is funny, because she tells me she does NOT like Chinese food. Hubby and I brought her Chinese buffet take-out once, which she RAVED over. I wish there were more eclectic choices of restaurants in this area, as I have been hankering for various "foreign" foods. Well, foreign to HERE, I mean. As it is, the Meat-and-Potatoes lovers have so many chain Hamburger-flipping joints to choose from. *sigh*
Anyway, I have been watching Fixer-to-Fabulous on HGTV. Wonder what they would do to this house. Whatever they could come up with would have to be better than the way it is now. (But it is a long way from Bentonville where they seem to do most of their work.) This den is like a little CAVE, especially when the drapes are pulled. This house needs opening up and to be better lit, and, and, and!
Nannie has been sound asleep since she finished her supper! In 30 minutes I will wake her up so she can go sleep in her bedroom!
I wonder what 'project' I will take up tomorrow?

Was thinking it might be a bad week at work, but so far it has not been. Had some time to work ahead even, to make the rest of the week less busy. Hope this continues
Otherwise it was a quiet day. Went to the store then came home and exercised
Tonight I have the book club
Will be oddly warm today, in the low 60s
