Good morning!
Joe, yes you've been more than patient. Hope you have a good day.
Dianah, how generous of you to gift some books to Stars. She's obviously excited about it!
I went to the gym the other day and it is closed for a week. Their social media says they are "getting a makeover", so I'm sure it will be nice.
My financial advisor called me yesterday while at competencies and when I called back he was going to the dentist. He's calling me at 9AM. He does a "check in" periodically and probably wants to discuss if I'm okay with the current plan or want to be more conservative. The problem with being conservative at this point is my investments won't recover, so I'll probably just risk it and stay the course. But we'll see what he advises. I'm so ignorant I'll just do what he recommends.
It's supposed to warm up today to 76 but it's cloudy and might rain.
It's raining, and cool in the 40s. I'm trying to feel motivated to get ready for dinner on Thursday, but it's not there. Dh is making a big deal about cleaning the house, as if he is the only one who cleans around here. He is leaving soon for a dentist appointment and then wants me to go with him to the grocery store. He just picked up $200 worth of groceries he ordered on his phone, but he needs more stuff. The only people coming are dd, her 2 boys and my sister. So we are having turkey and ham. He is always panicked that there won't be enough food. I am going to make dinner rolls tonight, because I work tomorrow.
I like looking at cards, but I don't like writing them out. Many of dh's extended relatives that I normally would send a card to are Jehovah's Witnesses, so I we don't exchange cards. And my family is so small, and many are gone.
We finally shifted our investment strategy to less risk. That feels weird. I'm glad we sold our Tesla stock when we did, right after it split. We bought some microchip stock which was rated high.
Ooh, new books! I have about 4 I am trying to get through, before I start any more.
My CT went well. It was focused on my heart, but they reported lungs look good, mild degenerative changes in spine, and a small hiatal hernia. That explains why I seem to wake up with heartburn, I guess.
Hello all!
Joe, the music will be for a Sunday School class (though because it is held on Saturday it is called Sabbath School) held in a member's large home in the apple-growing area (in the mountains). They look forward to this all-music hour, held this time of year. It was cancelled the past two years and they are anxious to start it up again.
I am so glad I have someplace to send books, to get them gone after I have read them! ?
I made crack slaw yesterday, which will last us a couple days. We are also finishing up the chocolate cake. I shouldn't bake, I know (because we just eat it, and it's usually not healthy for us!), but I do. ? Dh doesn't usually care for chocolate but he likes this cake.
nursej22, good that nothing MUCH amiss was found in the CT. Yah, I have a feeling we all have a little hiatal hernia. Sounds like you will have more than enough for Thanksgiving dinner! ?
I haven't mailed cards in years, however I want to go to the Love Pop site and order some of their beautiful pop-up cards, and mail a few. They are very special!
I will make a run to the grocery store and the HFS later (after lunch), for a few items. I know of several friends who are recovering from recent surgery, sending healing vibes and prayers their way.
Have a good day!
Holiday cards....yeah, I have only a few ro send, which are to hubby's dgt and grand-dgts, maybe a couple more, like to my sister, and that's about all. I remember way back when , we went through two books of stamps to get all the cards out. Now we are so -meh- about holidays.
Not going to put up Xmas decorations again this year. Quite free-ing not to feel we HAVE TO decorate. Nannie has not peeped a word, even with all the TV ads about Christmas. All the town has put their decorations up; well, they put them up two weeks ago! As did our next door neighbors (really, yes two weeks ago!) who decorate for everything, holidays, seasons, et al.
We decided we don't even care about Thanksgiving dinner. Sometimes our 'good' neighbor will invite us to come over and fill some plates. Otherwise, we can call the K&W cafeteria and order some plates to go pick up. The last two years we did Crackerhead Barrel, and didn't think much of what we got, so they are out. Hubby said just a hamburger would be fine with him. Easy-Peasy!
Nannie has a hair appt just before my appt on the 29th. "Girl's Day Out!" w00t?
Okay, I've been out to do some errands. Believe it or not, as I walked toward the doors at WalMart, I noticed I was standing tall with my shoulders back and I was walking at my (previous to the gypsies) long-stride pace. It was like--WOW!-- I am walking like I used to ! It felt pretty good! Wish it was back for good, but, you know those gypsies, they show up un-welcomed when I least expect them. Kinda nice to have that swing to my walk, for however long it lasts!
dianah~ Yeah, so good for you about unloading your books.....but what am *I* supposed to do with them after they've been read? No, just teasing! I can find places to take the already-read books.
Have to go, as hubby just brought home the seafood for supper tonight.

Dianah will this be a church Christmas program?
Stars glad they're replacing the glasses for free. I do hope he sticks with his plan. And thanks
Hi NJ22
Thanks Tweety. Thinking back...how J was always late early in our relationship, then frequently cancelling in our later relationship...I realized how immensely patient I have been with him
Was feeling a bit off and unhappy earlier yesterday, not sure why. Was a very busy day from work, thankfully being off Friday didn't throw things too far off. Just two more days....
J is still having allergy issues and wants to try getting together Friday instead *eyeroll* Funny thing was I was a little relieved too. Perhaps we're both having issues with this relationship transition
After work I went to the Hallmark store to get a birthday card for dad and Christmas cards to send out. Always like picking out cards. Stopped at the library to pick up a book too. Was going to go for a walk after work but it was pretty dark by then
Have started getting Christmas gifts, though I'm still waiting on some information from my sister about my niece and nephew. Hopefully I can get the shopping done before the end of the month
Will be in the upper 40s today, and lower 50s tomorrow. Will remain fairly warm for the next week or so, which is good as I'd like to do some things outdoors this week
