Good morning!
Joe, glad you had a good day after vacation. Hope today is the same for you.
Other than the appointment with the NP ahead of my routine colonoscopy screening it should be a routine day.
I found out that one of my friends with the older husband that had metastatic cancer decided to stop futile cancer treatments and let nature takes it's course. The younger guy is understandably having a hard time. We aren't that close and haven't seen him in a while but still keep touch. He was only my bowling team for a few years a couple of years back.
Didn't there used to be a movie titled "If It's Tuesday, It Must Be Belgium" ? Well, anyway, it is Tuesday and it will be Belgium for j22 !
I am planning on being a Domestic TERRO-ist today, as the ants seem to think the kitchen and bathroom upstairs are resort areas. YUK! Then, once they are done with their 'picnic' at the TERRO (prolly in two days) on little pieces of cardboard ALL OVER THE PLACE, I will do a major clean on the counters.
Also have a large laundry to do (mine) and, of course, trash collection from the wastebaskets. The larger wastebasket I put in Nannie's bathroom with a 30 gallon trash bag in it now has to be emptied EVERY. SINGLE. DAY. I think I should invest in the company that makes the large underpads, because between Nannie and Momo, we go through them like I don't know what! Might as well make some money off of our flagrant use of them!
Okay, time to get the Nannie-person up out of bed. { 😒 w00t? } Hoping she has to nap for a while this afternoon so I can do a bit of puttering. I will vac the den and kitchen before she drops off into a snooze, so that will be done. But, OH! First I have to empty the vac's previous collection of dirt, hair and dust. It really IS always SOMETHING!
Haven't vacuumed, but I did have 2 add'l loads of laundry to add to what I have lined up to go into the machines.
Nannie is sleeping!😀
It is low to mid-70's and mostly sunny.
Noticed when I got on the scale this morning, I have lost 2 more pounds; it hasn't changed the way my clothes fit, though. (yet). I don't really plan on losing much more, I think under 150 would be TOOOOO scrawny for me. I'll settle for 155, without trying to 'go for it". I will be donating any of the too baggy tops I have and don't wear anymore. That's another task for another day,
If I lose a bunch more I will be going into pants in a size 12, which I haven't seen since I lived in Nashville, when I was about 130 lbs. and had boney hips. Don't want to be 130 though! I'd look like.....well, I don't think that weight would be right for my age, if that makes any sense. One of these days I'm going to keep track of how many times I go up and downstairs. There are 9 stairs from the den to the kitchen, and 6 stairs from there to the third level. So, 15 stairs times the # of times I make the trips up and down equals my "exercise".
I checked the odometer on my car and the drive home from Nannie's new DayCare is exactly 5 miles. She apparently had a very good time there, except for her bowel explosions, which she doesn't remember. She was introduced to another 'newbie' there and they got along so great, one of the caregivers there said they 'conversed' nearly all day. I sure don't want to imagine that! I don't know if the other lady's brain is as plaqued-up as Nannie's is, but if so......OY!
I used to work at a small nsg home where they paired up two ladies who were PERFECT company for each other. One would only speak Portuguese and the 2nd lady was a retired CPA who literally thought she was tracing down a (non-existent) column of numbers, even if she had no paper or a pencil in front of her. The foreign speaking woman was a chatty-cathy, and the other one just said "Uh-huh" and smiled at her 'friend', who was so happy to NOT have someone tell her to speak English!
Welp, laundry is the theme of the afternoon, so I must be about my biznezz so that everything will be dry by bedtime,
Hello all!
Joe, it sounded like you had a nice mini-reunion, glad you traveled safely and that work isn't too busy on your return.
Tweety, so sad to hear about your friend's husband's diagnosis. I'm sure they will appreciate having your friendship at this time. How is bowling going, in general?
No Stars, wa-hoo, that yesterday Nannie had her first of THREE days of day care per week! And after the blow-out, you don't need to worry about whether there is any constipation! I'm sure, though she doesn't remember it, that Nannie enjoyed having a new friend.
We walked around Disneyland parks yesterday. It was 84 degrees (!) and a nice day. Lots of the flowers have filled out with blossoms since we were last there, and were beautiful. We caught three of our favorite bands and heard snippets of two other groups. Today we are resting up. Oh, and it was an interesting day, as far as travel is concerned: First, dh's phone didn't sync up with the car's computer, to give vital traveling/road information. He tried different things, then finally rebooted everything and then it worked. Then, when we left home, the freeway on-ramp was closed, so had to detour to another. Then, there was a lot of traffic that slowed down the trip (it usually takes about an hour; this trip took probably 10 min more). On our way home at the end of the day, we again experienced a LOT of traffic -- literally Stop-And-Go in some spots, which we usually don't get. It may slow down, but isn't usually at a standstill. Then, once we finally got home, we heard that just 30 min after we'd left the parking structure, the police chased a suspect in a stolen car, into the structure, and attempted to lose them in it. The parking structure is huge, 600 ft X 1150 ft with six stories, designed to hold over 10,000 cars; if it was turned end-side up, would be as tall as the Empire State Building. Anyway, they closed the structure for an hour or so, until the situation was resolved. At least we didn't get caught up in that!
When we got home we spied a package that had been delivered: my birthday gift from youngest ds and his wife! It contained specialty chocolates, yum!
I hope you all have a good evening!
