Good afternoon.
I don't like bland foods usually and like things hot and spicy. I bet I would like chicken noodle casserole.
I went to hot yoga this morning. I'm a bit fatigued from staying up late last night and having some insomnia late in the morning.
Going to see a movie and an exhibit of indigenous art that best friend got free tickets to at the library.
Speaking of spice, I'm having the rest of lentils and kamut for lunch. I'm adding some "Ajika Georgian Seasoning Blend" to it. I really like it. Got it at Trader Joe's. I think it's supposed to be used to make a chili paste but I've been using it as a seasoning on top of food. But will make the paste. It's from the country of Georgia over by Russian, not the state here.

It is 62 degrees, but it is an edgy, cold 62 degrees due to the NNW winds again. However I can assure you that "the sun, it shines so clear".
^^^That is not from Nannie! It's from a song that starts, "Sleepers, awaken, the night has gone and taken, your darkest fears and left you here; awake, for the world looks wonderful!" by The Incredible String Band. Does anybody remember them? I have their album or a tape-cassette of an album they made. I miss being able to listen to my eclectic collection of music. (All stuck for years in the un-loaded shed from our move down here. ?)
Slept late, then did the usual get'er up routine for Nannie. Hubby is snacking in the kitchen. Guess I'll do a quick drive out to the grocery store to pick up the things I forgot to get yesterday because they weren't on my list. (Now I am thinking of the song "Your Kiss is on My List" by Hall and Oates.)
I reckon this is going to be one of those days when many things remind me of certain songs. It used to drive my co-worker's crazy ?!
OMGOMGOMG~ He'p me pleeeeeze! Nannie is chattering, "nattering", gabbing gobbeldy-goop, and has been doing so for 20 minutes, and now it is PURE verbal salad. It started out with her talking about the birds outside, her mother, and the supper we ate which she said was made by her (long-dead) cousin. It went downhill from there with so many hesitations-uh,uh,uh, -then words she couldn't figure out and would fill in with a wave of her hand and say "oh, you know..."
I DIDN'T know, but I nodded along like I understood her. She couldn't stop talking and went from one 'story' to the next, and just kept it up until I was about to scream. FINALLY she wound down and closed her eyes; I deflated like a balloon losing air, except I didn't fly around the room making fart noises.....? is TOS gonna let me get away with entering the word "fart"?
Raining today. It cleared during the time we drove to the jam at the museum, so we were able to carry the instruments in, then enjoy the jam, and walk out to the car with the instruments afterwards, without getting wet! We stopped on the way home and got the yummy burritos (made with homemade tortillas), and had those for a late lunch/early dinner. Then spent a couple hours on a phone call with dh's brother and sis-in-law (the one I have been to France with).
And, it's still raining.
No other plans for today. I do need to exercise. ?
Tweety, the noodle casserole is strictly comfort food: frozen mixed vegetables, cream of mushroom soup, milk, chicken (recipe calls for cubed but I bought cans of shredded chicken, much like canned tuna), and parmesan cheese. Mix all together and pop into the oven in a pyrex dish. Top with shredded cheddar cheese, the last 5 min in the oven. I added some chopped parsley I'd had left over. Dh LOVES this.
No Stars, I read about a woman who makes fidget quilts. Lap quilts with lots of things that elderly fidgety hands can grasp and fiddle with, while seated. She makes them with lots of contrasting colors and with zippers, velcro (bottom area), little pockets they can tuck fingers into, things to tie and untie, etc. You get the idea. Photo: Now, granted, such a lap quilt wouldn't affect Nannie's verbal salad!
Enjoy your evening!
Welp, here's the latest Nannie shocker:
We were watching Forensic Files; the story was one in which a woman who had invited a female friend to stay with her and her kids until she could find a job and a place to live, and got so fed up with the friend who would not leave and was causing all kinds of trouble. So it showed a woman's hand pushing pills out of a bubble-wrap container. She was putting a muscle relaxer in large amounts, into the unwanted guest's food and smoothies, and it caused the friend to die.
And she asked "Do you suppose that was what happened to me?" I slowly turned my head toward her, making a puzzled face and asked her, "Why do you say that.? Are you dead???" She said, "No, I don't think so..." I asked her "Do you even know what a smoothie is?" ...."No."
She just ? blew my mind!
It blew me away
Nannie perhaps has a sense that something just isn't right with her and might be trying to sort that out. It's sad sometimes to see people with dementia try to make sense of the world. Sometimes they aren't in a happy place.
I saw a patient on the floor I floated to Sunday with one of those "fidget quilts" in her lap. We have some that we can give to dementia patients when they are stressed or unfocused.

Dianah I made southwestern beans and rice, to be honest it's a bit bland
NJ22 that's a long walk
Tweety pet food can be awfully expensive
Stars that must be frustrating, that he is so reluctant to do the things he needs to do
Work was not bad, despite having left early Friday. Did not have time to help anyone else but got everything done
Finally made my plans to visit Madison next month. Got the room, the day off, and the cat sitter squared away. First vacation this year
Rest of the day was fairly ordinary. Talked to my cousin, my aunt and uncle from South Carolina won't be at my aunt's memorial service but they want me to read a dedication they've written. Supposed to get that emailed today
Today have to look at local vets and make an appointment for the cat, as it has been a long time since she's been there. The volunteer group has an online meeting tonight too to discuss future plans
Will be quite warm today, in the mid 50s
