Good morning!
Joe, hope that you have a good day.
Had a wicked and loud thunderstorm that went on and on for a while around midnight last night. Waffles was a little restless but was okay.
Not much going on today. Will visit one of the museums that best friend got free tickets to from the library.
Hey, Tweety, we got that same "on and on" thunderstorm around 3 AM....it was a real humdinger! Bright, sharp, loud, with vigorous rain, and it came and went in 'waves'. I enjoyed it thoroughly, while eating a garden-fresh tomato sandwich on marbled rye and pumpernickel bread. Yes, at 3 AM, with a cup of decaf. I may be becoming more of a 🦉night owl these days...um, err, ah.... nights.
It is 11:30 AM now and I would like to go back to sleep again. Imagine that! I could curl up and take a good long snooze. Yuh.
I don't know what is going on today, but I sincerely hope it is NOTHING! Well, maybe I will do the rest of the dishes, and dump some waste-baskets. But I hope Nannie sleeps the day away. She did not want to wake up last night at 10 PM, but she had to, in order to go to bed and go BACK to sleep. She said she could not open her eyes, she could not stand up, and why didn't I just leave her alone so she could go back to sleep in her recliner. Nope, I told her, it ain't happening! The few times I let her sleep in the recliner she hurt a LOT the next day and if there is one thing I dislike IN THE EXTREME is a whiny old lady.........
OMG, am *I* a 'whiny old lady' ?
"See the happy moron / he doesn't give a damn / I wish I were a moron / My gosh, perhaps I am!"
I am in the process of lounging up against a pile of pillows, hoping my lower back and hip will stretch out like they did yesterday.
Tooze-daize are just another day to get through. I may be a "saint" (sure, hahahahaha!) for being here for NINE years, and taking care of Nannie and her stuff, but sometimes I feel like I am just wasting my life. No wonder I am depressed. Doing unto others ALL the time can be oppressive, because I don't do unto MYSELF. Phooey!
90 degrees, with a 'feels like' of 99 degrees (but I betcha it gets to 100) with 78% humidity and 51% chance of rain.
Oooga-boogah, and all that jazz.
Joe, that sounds like a busy/full day.
I love a good thunderstorm, as long as I can stay in and be safe. My sleeping habits are pretty bad right now. I'll go to bed around 10-10:30, but browse around on the phone or read a book until the crossword drops at 11. Then I do the crossword, and might then go to sleep... or might not. Then once asleep, I wake up anywhere from 2:30 - 4:00 and have trouble getting back to sleep. This morning, Twin B called to say the police stopped him when he was almost home because the "3rd brake light" was out on the car. (for some reason, he does not drive the car he bought but drives the 1995 Neon. He says he likes the Neon). And the insurance verification was an old one. He got a warning. Hubs had a light on hand to replace the brake light. He also went to the insurance office and brought back new verifications for the cars. I was just about ready to leave for work when he said he was going to go do that, and that Gma was up, so not to go anywhere until he got back. 🤔
J22, I shall hope with you for medical management.
I'm opting out of the book club tonight since it's a week night and Google Maps said it would take me 52 minutes to get to the restaurant. Granted, that was this morning and might have been taking morning traffic into consideration. But ... ugh.
When I got Nannie up, she didn't want to wake up and we went through the same thing of her not being "able" to open her eyes, or stand up, just like last night. I wonder if she will doze off now that she's had her AM pills and breakfast and is back in her recliner?
BiL was mowing the lawn when I got her up and it was more of "Who is that out there?" ( .....'Your son.'......) "Who?"

(Waving my arm in the air: 🙋♀️ "Teacher, may I be excused, please?")
Ado, is it an OK thing to have to have "insurance verification" and having to go in person to an insurance company to get it? Mine is on the app on my phone, but I also usually print out it out and put it run the glove box but that's an old habit from the old pre-phone days.
I've been pulled over twice here in FL (ticketed once) and they ask for the driver's license and the car's registration. By the time they walk up to you they've run the license plate through their system. But they've never checked for insurance verification.
I enjoyed the museum. Deciding whether or not to got to yoga at 4:30 or 6:30 or not at all. 6:30 is too late, but the 4:30 one is a class I don't like as much as the 6:30 one.
They can usually run the license through some database and find the insurance. But I guess it is also required to carry proof of insurance. Which they probably mailed to us ... Hubs says he needs to stop ignoring his mail. Duh!?
In any case, I now have up-to-date proof of insurance in the glove compartment. I should now go through the stuff in there and get rid of old ones. Good project for tonight.
Last night we made food from a recipe in a graphic novel, again. And we made our own wonton wrappers, which was a little time-and-labor-intensive but not that bad and they turned out quite well.
It may have gotten up to 70, briefly, 50% chance of rain tomorrow.
I washed and sliced fresh, local strawberries. Some went in the freezer, some will go on shortcake, and some will go in ds's morning smoothies.
We took the pickup in because it continued to make suspicious noises. It needs a new AC pump and belt. They hope to have it done Friday. We are leaving to go camping on Saturday.
I chased the vacuum and dust mop around, and did some laundry. Dh and I went down to the demo garden to replenish plants at the self-serve plant sale. We talked to some nice people about plants and the gardens.
Our state requires proof of insurance in the car. Dh and I trade cars at times, so the paper copy works for us. When one of the kids got a ticket for no current insurance , they took a copy to the police department and they knocked the ticket down to a nominal fee.
it's only 530 and I can hardly keep my eyes open. Dh is asleep so I'm not going to start dinner for a while.
My GOSH! I got Nannie into bed at 10 PM and was sitting out here in the den when I heard a HUGE KER-THUMP!. No, she didn't actually fall out of bed....she was trying to reach something on her walker and it was a leedle bit too far away, and that's when she went down....landed seated on her butt, and on the four pair of shoes she has to have by the bed, she knocked the rollator so it rolled over and knocked down a pile of folded blankets. I told her she was supposed to be trying to sleep. AND, I told that if she didn't want me to call the ambulance guys, she was going to help ME help her up. I put a pillow down and had her sort of roll over so her knees would be on the pillow, I braced her stocking'd feet with my foot, and I had to tell her where to put her hands and what to hang onto and how to move onto the mattress. Got her to where she could roll onto her back ("I'm going to fall out of bed!"......Me: 'No, you are ON the mattress.") I don't know what she was trying to get, as there were several things in the direction she was reaching for. SHE didn't know why, or how, she ended up on the floor. The only pain she complained of after she was in bed was her TOES hurt. Nothing was broken and I told her she would live in spite of that, but if she tried to get out of bed again, *I* might cause her to hurt more! I said, "STAY IN BED!" So, as Alfred the Alligator used to say when he was disgusted:
"GADFREY P. SAKES AND HIS LEFT-HANDED BROTHER!"
🙄 OY Vey!!
Anybody feel like singing with me? 🎼🎵🎶 "This is a lovely way, to end an evening..."
