Woke up at 8 AM. (UGH!) Got a phone call at 9 AM to make a hearing appt. They said,"It's free!" Same place I went years ago, and they're right....I can afford a free hearing test, but it doesn't matter how much worse my hearing is, because the last set of hearing aids I got were $3,000. I guess I will continue saying "What?" a lot. And if I were to be able to afford them, the 'new' hearing aids will have to be the ones which go over my ears; in which case, I hear my hair more than anything else. But I will go and have the test, though. I need a new prescription for glasses more than hearing aids, because it's very important to me to be able to read without squinting. And I also need those 4 new tires for my car. And to get Momo spayed. And, and, and....
But, as of Thursday the bank's Mastercard with the horrendous interest will be paid off. I have to focus on the good stuff, so I don't sink below where I have been treading water...
Today's itinerary....after SiL comes and takes Nannie away for the afternoon....Drop off donations to the Women's Shelter store, go to the library, and do MY laundry. And listen to the wonderful quiet here at the house.
Did I tell you that Nannie said she has ducks in her cast, and that's why it's so heavy? I didn't tell her, but SiL is taking her to an appt with her dentist today. Maybe he can drill a hole in the cast so the ducks can get out.
I am not a napper, but I sure would like to take a nap right now; however, that would be a waste of my 'time off'. It's not a DAY off; it's only 4-5 hours, but at least it's SOMETHING.
One of these days I will get whole days and evenings off all in a row! I just don't know what year that might occur. I feel smothered here.
Good morning!
Hope you have a good day Joe and continue to recover.
I definitely am a napper, mostly to my detriment as it interferes with nighttime sleep. Will resist today since I have to work tomorrow.
Went to a charge nurse meeting at 7:30 this morning and it lasted until 9:20. Ugh. They are throwing around the idea of the charge nurses working 6:15AM or 6:30 pm for 12 hours. I can see the advantage but I also object. I get up at 5AM as it is to make sure I have a healthy breakfast and the blind dogs feed and potties. I won't be a fan of getting up earlier than that and going to sleep earlier. But I supposed I'll let majority rule and do what I'm told.
I'm a napper when I have the opportunity (weekends). It does interfere with sleep at night. Sunday night I didn't sleep well at all so yesterday was a long day. Hubs naps every day. I don't know what he'd do if he had to go several days without.
Hubs wanted to go sailing for our 35th anniversary (which is Monday) but thought it might be easier to do it Saturday, so he talked to the Gma-sitter this morning. Then I remembered that my brother might be coming for his high school class's 50-year get-together, so I texted to see if he had finalized plans. He had. Offered to take him sailing Saturday but he didn't think he'd have time after the get-together. He suggested that instead we plan on visiting the cemetery (he hasn't been since our parents' monument was placed) and other local haunts. So back to thinking I might take Monday off if the Gma-sitter can do Monday. Hubs might pout. I wish he wouldn't.
Hi. I had physical therapy this morning, and it was meh. The PTA was trying to show me an exercise or 4, and I either wasn't doing them right, or they irritated my SI joint. So no new exercises this week, which makes me feel like no progress in strengthening the muscles around my knee. I do have less stiffness and aching, but still get pain with running. I stopped the supplement that the sports doc recommended, because I broke out in a rash on my face. On the way home, I stopped at the cable company office to ask about emails I keep getting about my cable getting cut off. They are a scam, but they look so real, I wanted to verify. I forgot to stop at the pharmacy, so after I got home, I jumped on my bike and pedaled down and back to get those.
It hasn't rained today, which I think is the first time in a week. Some of the seeds dh planted last week are sprouting, and a lot of weeds are coming up.
Tweety, how will those hours work if you have a patient load and charge? Don't you have to wait for someone to turn your patients over to?
Stars, I've had more than one eye doctor tell me that drug store reading glasses are just as effect as prescription. and much cheaper.
Joe, I am glad you are getting better. I may jinx myself, but I cannot remember the last time I had a fever. Not even when I had COVID. I really don't get sick much, especially after I had a pneumonia vaccine.
I'm so sleepy, I may take a nap. I don't have to be anywhere tomorrow until 9 am, so if my night sleep is disturbed, its not the end of the world.
I was talking to a friend about my work attendance and I haven't been sick since I had the flu in October 2023 and I haven't called off, even for mental health days. I've just jinxed myself.
I finally gave up running because when I stopped I felt good and when I restarted, no matter how much time went buy my knee, particularly my left started to hurt. Didn't bother me during covid when I'd do those 7 mile walks. I just do my cardio at the gym.
Went to hot yoga and skipped doing some chores. But I still have laundry to fold after dinner.
J22, someone did bring that up and apparently the idea is the charge on the other shift would have the same patients and we'd hand them off to each other. I really don't see the advantage to coming in earlier other than we're on the floor being air traffic control while people are in report. But with full patient loads it wouldn't work.
As always, I'll be the good worker and do what I'm told.

Hi Tweety
Stars glad you won't have her for the afternoon at least
Ado the body work is very good
Work was not bad yesterday, and I was not too tired either. Hoping for the same today, although we might have meeting, which might complicate things
NC license finally came through. Now there is some sort of rehab cert for that state that I need to get too. Thankfully I won't be taking any NC cases yet, just covering for coworkers who have them
Didn't do much last night, mostly just took it easy, as I tend to get tired in the evenings. Low grade fever still hanging on though gradually getting lower. Sleep was a bit better last night, I think that given this hot spell I need to set the AC lower at night, otherwise combined with the fever it make sleeping difficult
Today feeling that lack of sleep for the last few days, may need some more tea. Will do laundry but nothing else planned
Will again be in the low to mid 90s today
