Good morning!
Nice picture J22!
Not a lot going on around here. I did manage to mow the grass yesterday and go to the gym. Watched some TV.
Had a good three minute visit with my doctor (my co-pay was 30 minutes) where I told her I had no medical complaints and even though I still have some issues with sleep didn't want to change anything or increase the clonazepam dose that I have been using 3 to 4 days a week. She agreed to keep renewing the med and that was that. I have to go back in three months. I don't understand the requirement for every three month visits for benzo's. I suppose because it's recommended they be for the short term rather than chronic. But I've been chronically on this med for about five years now and there's no discussion that I need to get off of it. I don't want to. It seems to be thing that turns off the anxiety so I can get some sleep. Otherwise I'm pacing the floors at 2AM which is problematic when I have a 12 hour shift coming up. But it's also not a hardship to comply.
I talked to my sister in North Carolina. They were close to the floods there but they didn't get anything but some rain. They are on higher ground so even if it rained a lot it still wouldn't flood. Thanks goodness for that. They are also far from the Cape Fear River so no flooding risk from a surge.
Have to get my teeth cleaned today. I think it's time for X-rays and an exam from the dentist. He's watching a few things that might have deteriorated to the point of needing some work. Ugh.
It's been a beautiful day here, almost hot, in the 80s. We had dinner last night and breakfast this morning in the historic dining room here in the inn. Food was okay but a little pricey. Then we hiked for 4 hours, going slow to enjoy the flowers and deal with the shortness of breath from being at elevation. We saw a marmot, but I forgot to take his photo. Grabbed lunch at the Visitors Center and rehydrated. Tonight we are going to the Nepalese restaurant near the park entrance.
OMG, I just erased over half my post! It was lengthy and gabby and prolly said more than I should have said. I was answering j22's query from the other day, about considering another place to live. Well, all of my jabbering took a while and then when I erased it, I though, mmmm, just as well. It is getting late, and I'm tired. But here's some of what I erased......
When I said I was here for the duration, I had no idea it was gonna be such a L-O-N-G duration! But this too shall pass, even if I go before Nannie does. Anyway, I don't want to go live in Maine with my hoarder sister and her husband, who live in a "mobile home" made back when they called them trailers, and it probably should have been razed about, oh 10-15 years ago AT LEAST! I And I ABSOLUTELY don't want to move to Michigan, and I don't think my 80-81 y.o. brother would want me to, either. I find him to be exceptionally irritating if around him ( he's pompous) for more than a few days, and even before that. And my younger bro prolly feels the same about ME, as I do about my older bro and sister, except I'm not a hoarder per se. I hope I am just possibly less irritating to him as my older bro is tome. (And I'm not pompous, either!) He lives in N. Calif. and told me once:....."If you look at the state of California, and picture it as Gumby turning and peering over his left shoulder, where you would see his NOSE is somewhat near where I live." {**🤔Ask tmb about my so-called 'competency' 🙄 in geography!!} And the friend that lives in Fla., (don't ask me where!)who gifted me with Momo, had once said something about me moving down there, but things she had thought of that might have worked, once, have already changed because of Mr. dRumpz recent 'Wild Ride' (Like Mr Toad's Wild Ride, which is a book my sister always liked.)
HOWEVER, were I to win a heaping amount of money.....say over a million, at least, (and that would be AFTER TAXES, thank you very much!.)...I still would not know where to go to live! I used to live in Nashville TN once, in the late 1970's and I really liked it, and Eastern TN woods are so beautifully eerie (if there are any places left after the influx of more and more people) So. I liked Nashville UNTIL.......it grew and grew and grew!, Asheville NC, yeah, I liked it there a whole lot, BUT it too has grown and grown and driving there the last time, years ago, it made me groan, because it made ME insane, so much more POPULATION, y'know, and it has gotten, oh what's that expression? "OFF THE CHAIN!" There are many other geographic NO'S, a lot of it connected to their normal weather patterns , but also to the NEW and not improved weather patterns of late.
Living here right now, I have no rent or mortgage, and the utilities are all being paid for by BiL.....that's water, elec, cable/wifi, HVAC, trash pick-up, and I get $400/mo for me, and $400/mo for Nannie's groc and etceteras. Besides which it is a quite large-ish bit of property that would likely be worth a LOT more than the house, And it is being WILLED to me, since my hubby died before Nannie. The changes were made way back when she had a brain, and she has legal documents and two or three doctor's testaments to that fact so it ought to hold! My step-dgt hates me because she thought Nannie should have made her will to include HER and her daddy. But Nannie said NO to that, she wanted it coming to me. I never knew about it until much later, and had nothing to do to make Nannie decide to specify it that way when she changed her will eleven or twelve years ago. Sooooo, anyway,
.BiL and SiL get a small percentage of this places worth, whatever that will end up being!) And it is in a nice part of town, kinda still on the edge of rural-ish-ness,..... tho' it too is being crowded in by a VERITABLE PLETHORA of sprawling apartment complexes, and has it's share of gated communities, condos, and single-family "communities". Bleh. Oh well.
It's after the witching hour, so I'm going to stop her and pick up my David Baldacci dectective/murder/courtroom paperback I paid all of 50 cents for, and escape this world for a while.

Hi Dianah

Was a busier day that usual yesterday, with covering for the coworker who is off this week. But thankfully did not have to leave late, and was able to get the laundry done
Finally started on the puzzle. Looks like it could take longer than I had anticipated
Today will have grocery shopping after work and a political event too
Will be in the upper 80s today with rain possible later
