Tweety it's odd that they don't alert you when to renew

Stars payday is always good.  Using the annuity to get some respite sounds like a good idea

Ado that was nice of you  to pay.  It sounds like they do need to have some sort of program for patient transportation

Work was a bit crazy in the morning,  but things gradually calmed down and I even had time to work ahead,  which should make today easier

After work was fairly quiet, stopped by the grocery store and then exercised.  Found another Meetup group I'm interested in joining

After work should be fairly quiet today too, just exercise planned

Going to be in the upper 70s here.  Weather going forward is not bad, mostly low to mid 80s

Good morning!

Joe, hope you have a good day.

Ado, that was indeed generous of you to pay for the ride.  You should try for reimbursement.  Fortunately my facility has a contract with a cab company and they allow us to call for patients. I sometimes wonder if people don't take advantage or don't even try to find a ride.  Last week a woman that had an elective surgery claimed she didn't have a ride home the next day and couldn't afford a cab so we had to pay to get her home along with her mother who somehow got there but couldn't get home.  eye roll. But overall it's a good service we provide.

Stars, I can understand the hesitancy to spend so much money for a short term.  But it's easy to say "stay the course" financially when you're not the one who signed up for it and is doing all the care and work.

My membership has indeed expired.  When I called they didn't answer.  The owner stopped me when I went in to remind me to renew.  I said "yeah I called to ask and no one answered".  He said "we don't do that much around here".  But the guy that was to renew my membership after my work out wasn't around and I didn't wait, so still have to do that.  Will be interested to see how much the price has increased.

Got some online work training done.  Very boring.  Will putz around and go to hot yoga.  May watch a movie with best friend later or go to the beach.  Remains undecided at this moment.

Good morning. I was up early to watch a seminar about my heart condition. It was very informative. I am going for a bike ride shortly, while it is still cool, supposed to get up to 80. I took sis computer shopping yesterday. Her laptop died and she felt strong enough to go to the store. She is doing quiet well. She is able to fully weight bear, and often just picks up her walker. We went out to lunch, and when we got home one of her overbearing friends was waiting for her, and scolded her about not letting "people" know where she was. Anyway, she is doing well. She said something about wanting to be able to drive, and I said why can't you? But I am happy to get her where she needs to go. Apparently she is to start PT at a facility, but no one has called to schedule. With the way our local health care is, I won't be surprised if it doesn't happen.

I've started to think about a gym membership, again. Maybe when I am done traveling this Summer. We are going to Vermont at the end of the month, and then to Mt. Rainier the second week of August.

Annie, your transportation issues sound familiar. In our state, if patients have Medicaid, they can use that to pay for taxis. When I was at the health department we paid for taxis for patients without coverage and it really got expensive. Low cost housing is generally out in the county and our transit system is pretty limited. But yeah, some people act rather entitled.

Stars, congrats on your payday! You deserve every penny!

If it wasn't so pathetic, it would be funny, Don't allow your under-the-influence husband to call in and order pizza and some bone-out chicken wings. I think he ordered more "Uh, uh, uh, uh" than anything else. I was in the background prompting him and correcting some of his order, and the person on the phone could hear me, so I THINK the order will arrive, as stated back by her.

I was going to 'take the day off' but alas there were dishes piled up in the sink, and Nannie's wet stuff to launder. Hubby "didn't sleep hardly at all" last night and he and Nannie were doing the siesta thing. I know I could have made a stink and insisted hubby do the dishes, but to tell you the truth he does not do a good job of it. I'd rather have clean dishes and silverware than an argument.

Last night was weird, as I had what you call "free-floating anxiety" because I had a feeling of dread that "something bad" would happen today.

I also felt bad because those feral kittens sat outside the back door and stared in at me, around the time I usually feed the birds and deer. They have been eating birdseed and corn/fruit mix. Hubby has said one of them had diarrhea, and no wonder. Hubby started grousing about them 'hanging around" and threatened to drive them off with his BB gun. I said a most firm NO you WON'T! I have to find out if there is a place I can call to get a have-a-heart trap temporarily, to trap them, but I have to tell you it is more likely that we'll end up trapping a raccoon or possum or some other wildlife. Anyway, it is distressing. One of the does always comes up to the yard early, to get at the corn before any other deer get it. Now the doe actually comes halfway between their feeding spot and the house and also looks intently at the back (glass) door. The critters know from whence cometh the food!

At least there is a ballgame this evening, that will occupy time.

I told hubby he has not yet called to talk to the guy about Nannie's annuity, so it MUST be done tomorrow! All he does is mope, complain, and then sleep after bending his elbow. ppfftt!

So, while we were eating supper he sez, "What are we going to call _____ about?" I said, "The annuity." He sez, ? "What about it?' (duh) I said, "to find out how much she has to draw on, so we can put her in the nursing home, if only for a few months. I don't know about you but I can't keep going on like THIS!" He grunted. I told him "we can go out into my car and sit in the AC and have the speaker phone on." (grunt, again.)

I will set my alarm so we can catch the guy mid-morning; we may have to make an appt w/ him. Fingers crossed!

My boss reluctantly agreed that I could be reimbursed. I hate it because I know cash flow is tight for the hospital. But then it is for me, too. I could start a fund and consider this the first donation.

Stars, good luck with the kittens. We have had a momma cat and kittens outside the hospital. They're feral and run from people. I guess someone was feeding them. I haven't seen them this week, though.

A bag of birdseed on my back porch has sprung a leak. A cleanup effort is needed out there. But it is so HOT. 102 today. I haven't yet seen critters out there but I'm sure they will come if I don't get this cleaned up.

The back porch is on the west side of the house and the afternoon sun makes it unbearable. Hubs hates mowing around trees so we don't have a nice shade tree. He wants a pergola and to pave a larger area than currently paved. Which is OK with me. And then I want those sprayers to keep us cool. I can dream up a lot of ways to spend money. Unfortunately.
