Another pleasant day, after a touch of rain last night. Picked yet more blueberries, and made some mini scones to take to share with fellow gardeners tomorrow. I waited half the day for youngest ds to get up to go on a bike ride that he suggested, only for him to say he was too sore. So I helped dh with a project, and cleaned up the kitchen.
Good to hear the dog has arrived, and is settling in.
Tweety, I hope your GI tract can heal soon.
My eldest went to the Twin Cities last year to watch a hockey tournament, He said it was pretty cool. My dad was born in St. Paul, I think. His family came to this area during the Depression, when he very young.
Ya, know, Joe, the PNW is an awfully nice place to visit, if you don't mind flying. Mountains, ocean, sports, museums, good coffee and beer.
Hello all!
Tweety, I hope you continue to improve. Though I agree with Joe, glad it's not cdiff, that doesn't cancel out the discomfort of what it is and what it is putting you through!
nursej22, mmmmm, blueberry scones sound delish! We drove up through Oregon and Washington about 5 yr ago, to board a cruise ship to Alaska, via Seattle. Very pretty country!
Joe, Ugh, a meeting around lunchtime? SMH! I hope it was a short one.
I didn't get to sleep till after 3am, then woke up when dh came into the room around 1130! I was sleeping quite well then, thankyouverymuch! After lunch I took off to do some errands: got some $$ out of the credit union, to give to the ds's and dil when we see them Thursday. I walked through Michael's, wondering if they carry fabric and sewing supplies now that JoAnn's is closed. Nope. They have lots of craft "stuff." Then I stopped by the Cat Cafe and chatted with oldest ds and watched the cats for a bit. They were quite busy, with a wine tasting event going on in the back half of the area, and half a dozen or so ppl in the front half, there to visit with the cats. ds was kept busy! Then I stopped at the grocery store for a few things and now I'm home! Time to drink my afternoon water! It was *only* 86 degrees when I was out, so it wasn't too bad, really.
Have a good evening!
Yep, it'll be hot, like well over 90 every day, and disgustingly humid all week, ending up Friday at 100 degrees, and ain't that a BIG FAT w00t ?
SiL got Nannie from daycare today so she could come over and meet Little No-Name. I don't know if I posted this yesterday or not, but when SiL found out who the couple was who brought me the dog they found wandering around their cul-de-sac......she immediately calmed down about me getting a dog. The guy and his wife, well, SiL and BiL have been friends with them for YEARS, and she texted me what a great guy he was, and her attitude about me getting a dog turned into "Well, I was just worried you'd end up with a puppy and that would be too much work for you." (Uh-huh.) The guy called me up in the late afternoon, to see how the dog was doing. He had become very attached to it and hated to give it up, but felt better once we 'visited'. But he said he will wait a while until she is good and bonded to me before he comes to visit her; doesn't want to confuse her, he said.
Nanny was in some kind of mood this evening. We watched AGT and she was insulting about every contestant, and the funny thing was, it was about all the "Golden Buzzer" Winners. I said, "well, the judges and the audience thought a lot more of their talent than you do, and THEY WON, so...." She kept saying things like "She hasn't got nothing." (a singer). And "Who do they thinking they are, dressed like that?" It was a choir from a ghetto somewhere and they had on overalls with one of the hook parts hanging down like kids do. I said they probably couldn't all afford fancy costumes, and it was only their audition, so who did they need to dress up for? I tell you, there was nothing - not one single act that she thought was any good at all tonight! Guess it's jealousy, because she was a soprano solo-ist in her church choir. She was an okay singer for hymns, but because she didn't get praised to the skies every time she sang a solo, she was mad at most of the congregation! And her attitude didn't help endear her, so there's that....
Up in my room getting ready to read for a while. Now that I have removed her harness, the dog has curled up in a tight little ball beside my right hip; so cute! I tried out a whole list of names on her today (from various internet sites) but nothing grabbed her attention in the least. SiL had some suggestions, but I don't want to name her Brandy or Whiskey; because hubby died such a raging alcoholic, I don't want to name her after any kind of alcohol!!
Anyway, I was going to post a lot earlier but ....geeze, ya know, THAT DOG kept interrupting me....... 🤣 by being so cute! 🤣 I am really glad I have her and I hope no 'original owner' calls and wants her back!
SiL told me to leave the harness and leash out and she said she would take the dog out to pee when she gets here in the morning to get Nannie ready for daycare. Imagine that!

Stars hope the dog works out
Tweety glad it's not Cdiff
Hi NJ22 Ado and TMB
Good day at work yesterday, despite getting a new case. At least no meetings and no one off. Had time to do laundry
After work was quiet, ran an errand and exercised. Emailed with my cousin, she is talking about a vacation later this year. We discussed my planned trip to Milwaukee. She's interested but discussed taking the train rather than driving, which is possible but a bit more complicated. She also mentioned the Twin Cities but that's a lot farther away
Today should be normal at work, except we will have fairly long meeting right around lunch time. Which means lunch might be very short, we'll see how busy things are and how long the meeting actually is
After work will do the grocery shopping and exercise
Should be in the upper 80s again today, warmer the rest of the week
