Good morning!
Joe, I hope physically you are feeling better. Hope work picks up so you can feel better about that.
We're running 100% capacity at work so slowing down there. This is typically our "season". I know a lot of snowbirds whose Winter homes were flooded haven't been down this year.
Nope medicare is not free for us middle class people. My financial advisor said if I wanted the "Cadillac version of medicare" with drug coverage, a supplement, etc. it may be over $600 a month based on my income. Yowsa
Other than that shock my meeting with her went well and she is still predicting that I should be able to retire in 3 years as is my goal and have funds should I live a long life. Lots of things can happen but I'm feeling a bit better since I raised the amount I think I would need and withdrew money for the roof and other repairs.
I let my roofer know I was displeased that my project is still not finished and it's apparently is going to be finished by the end of the month. I won't hold my breath because he's been a no show several times. As I said, I don't want to be "that customer" but I need I also need to be a bit assertive in that it's not okay. I also am saving some of my angst for my Google review where I will air all of my complaints. LOL
Best friend wants to go to the movies but I think I'll pass today as there are chores to get done.
Our weather report shows it is (or is supposed to be) "cloudy", but the skies are blue and the sun is shining. Temp says 58 degrees, but I haven't gone outside so I cannot attest to the verity of that claim. I am lounging in bed and will be having my 2nd cup of coffee....if I can sneak down to the kitchen, hopefully avoiding having to actually 'start' my day-job yet. I am such a foot-dragger (not in a literal sense, though.) See those imaginary gouges in the dirt behind me? : ================<( foot-prints, evidence of a reluctant "care"giver)
Huh. Just looked at the phone to find out what day of the week it is. I have to wait until tomorrow for Nannie to be taken to DayCare. Oh well. At least it's something to look forward to.
Nannie agreed she wanted to go to bed around 9:15 last night, which I thought was just lovely of her. SiL getting her up early, and her spending the day elsewhere very nicely wears her out.
I obviously have nothing interesting going on here, but I suppose I will at least get dressed, just-in-case.
I don't understand what the point is for roofers to start roofing and then not finish the job for, what, weeks? months? It's not like a roof is a frivolous purchase. They need to stand unsheltered in a hard rain, so they can experience what their customers have to go through. Bah, I say!
Nannie got up at 12:45 PM. She has wet EVERYTHING, so I have lots more laundry to do. Wheeeeee😫! That's okay, because what else have I got to do?....."Trash and dishes" is the correct answer to that question. (this was an 'open book' quiz).
Last night I got very frustrated trying to do the Word Search and Crossword puzzles; that's when I know I am too mentally drained. It's not like they are difficult, but my brain went on strike. That's why I was so glad when Nannie said she wanted to go to bed at 9:15 PM!
Now this is weird....when I typed in "She" the laptop completed my thought for me....not correctly, mind you, but that's because AI just thinks (if it actually does 'think', which I seriously doubt) it is intelligent.....the word that AI substituted was "Sheila". I do not know any Sheila's here. I worked with a Sheila about 36 years ago.... Wish I could just erase AI entirely, but technological 'improvements' are so stubborn.
Eight (8) full loads of laundry 😖
Mrs I. P. Freely contributed to six of them, and my little "pee-tailed*" dog added to the rest. I recommend investing in any products that are labeled "incontinence products", and laundry detergent, as well.
*pee-tail was a joking kind of insult my husband once used toward both his brother and his daughter.
Hello!
Ugh, No Stars, keep that warsher and dryer going!!
Tweety, how disappointing that the roof isn't done yet. Did the stucco get done? Do you think the contractor just over-schedules himself (to ensure a robust business), then gets jobs started just to placate the homeowners, but has too many to finish in a timely manner? Just kicking around ideas, as I have no clue how such a business is run. I'm like you, usually on the other end of it!
Joe, I hope today went smoothly for you, and that your cat keeps her meals down! I also hope your landlord replaces that valve soon, I'm sure the heating costs are not cheap (does he pay them, or you?). I hope your labs are normal, and that your headache is now GONE. I'm guessing being NPO triggered the migraine?
We had very little rain on Saturday and Sunday, but at least we got some. Mountains have 6-12" of snow. The eagles (Jackie and Shadow) have two new eggs in their nest at Big Bear Lake, and it makes me cold to see them on the eagle cam, snuggled in their nest with snow atop them, incubating those eggs (they have a 105 degree body temperature!). We are watching to see if she lays one more egg, for a total of three. She laid three last year but none of them hatched.
I just finished two more hours of CEUs. I have 16 done; 30 hours are due by April. I think I will make it! I don't know why, but I want to maintain my license. So far. 😉 I did one on Dyspnea and one on ECG changes with Hypertrophy, Bundle Branch Blocks, and different electrolyte disturbances. Very interesting!
Not much else going on here.
Have a good evening!

Another fairly slow day at work, hope things begin to pick up before too long. Was a bit of a struggle, had some upper respiratory symptoms for much of the day, and later a headache, not helped by fasting for labs.
In the evening went to the doctor's appointment and had labs drawn, so I could finally eat. Headache came back, so I had to use my old migraine combo of ibuprofen/caffeine/ginger root, which worked, which suggests it was a migraine, the first I've had in years
Today should be pretty ordinary. As long as I'm feeling good I'll go out to dinner with the church group
Talked to the landlord, a valve needs to be replaced in the heating system. Hopefully he can get the part soon, until then I have to keep windows cracked open to keep it from getting too hot
Going to be a fairly warm day again for this time of year, think in the lower 40s
