Tweety wish it was in the 60s here

Stars a longer break would be good, given that you do errands while she is away

Hi TMB

Ado here's hoping that there isn't any ice today

Thought yesterday might be bad at work, but it wasn't actually that bad, despite having someone off and having yet another new case.  Even had some time to do laundry in the afternoon instead of after work

Since I had more time after work, I decided to do a CEU as well as finish my taxes, and exercised a bit as well

Had an weird feeling on waking up this morning, like it was tiresome "This again?" Not sure if it was the tail end of some dream or just the result of the busyness of the last few weeks

Not much planned for after work, just the usual grocery shopping

Another cold day here, will only get up to 12, -4 currently

Good morning!

Joe, hope you have a good day.

The IRS hasn't processed my addendum so right now I've paid them twice.  Not sure how to go about getting the overpayment sent back.  There is an office in Clearwater which is in the same county here.  But with all the layoffs in the government, not sure how that will go if I make an appointment there.  I'll give it another couple of weeks I guess.

The saga of my roof continues.  The guy came and did some work yesterday and seem to finish the back of the house.  There is still a huge chunk of stucco in the front that has yet to be started and I have no idea when that will get done.  Very frustrating.

I look at the storms and the weather around the country and feel like I live in another country.  Should be in the low 70's here which is our norm.  I think we're getting a cold front tomorrow which will bring us below normal again.  Weather is usually a bit schizo this time of year.

Not much going on today.  Had a poor night's sleep.  Slowbro woke up several times through the night on top of my own sleep issues I'm tired.  BP is elevated this morning due to lack of sleep I'm sure.

I ordered external hard drive to back up some pictures I have on two old computers. Then I will get rid of the computers.  I ordered it an hour ago and it's shipped already and supposed to arrive this afternoon.  Crazy.

Anyway, have a good day.

It would seem that, once again, I have posted at the end of yesterday's thread instead if today. Nothing exciting, though, so if you miss it, you haven't missed much at all!

Maybe I'll have something to post later, in which case I will do it on today's thread.

It is clouding up.....Oooh. Don't have to go anywhere, because I did it all yesterday. So I'm not stressing about slippery roads or anything to do with outside, Now, the best thing to have happen is that when Nannie is returned home, she gets very, VERY sleepy!

Tee-hee-hee: Nannie's horror-scope says that her brain is not firing on all cylinders today. w00t!

Sure enough there was a thin layer of ice this morning. Hubs drove me to work and will pick me up while bringing Twin B, who agreed to work 1700-0500 to help maintain bare-bones coverage. Now it is snowing a little bit and the temp has dropped to 13.

We have 6 inpatients and the ER has not seemed to slow down. So far, staff coverage is pretty good. Every time I think I've caught up a little bit I remember something else that "needs doing" so ... back to it.

I think I've picked out the car I'm going to buy. It's more than I had planned, but I really like the car, and the financial planner thinks we can do it. I hope to go get it tomorrow, and maybe have it to take to Seattle for our weekend trip. Or is that courting bad luck?

Weather is typical for this time of year, 40-50, occasional rain, occasional sun. Playing trivia tonight.

We went to visit  MiL in the hospital this afternoon. She has the flu, which has exacerbated her COPD. She looks pretty good, ornery as usual. Dr. came in while we were there, they are going to keep her one more night. Dr. recommended a pulmonary consult , but she had such a negative experience in the past, that she is refusing. If it was the dude I am thinking it was, I can't blame her. I told her about my sis's positive experience with another doc in that practice, so she is thinking about it. Mostly to optimize her home routine and keep her out of the ED and inpatient. I hope someone could talk frankly about what how her disease will progress.

Stars, you definitely need a respite! Nannie's son needs to step up, as far as I'm concerned. I mean, what if you get sick or injured? These things are easier to set up when it's not an emergency. Okay, off my soapbox.

Annie, is it flu that is keeping your facility busy? Thats what it seems to be her. MiL was in the ED 8 or 9 hours before she got a room. When we visited today, we saw lots of respiratory precautions signs and carts. Oh, and I saw an old coworker and got a big hug!

Flu is definitely a big factor for the ER. While we have had some flu admissions to the floor, I'm not sure it's enough to drive a higher census.
