Hi Amo
Stars I would say you definitely have "sisu" and it sounds like you've done quite a lot in your life and career
Dianah I've heard of singer's masks, I find the KN95 give my mouth some room, unlike the other mask types
Busier day at work, got a new case and some reviews to do in addition to the usual calls. But got it all done. Hoping today will be a little slower
After work exercised and did online Bible study. Noticed some sound issues, wonder if using the Zoom web site rather than the apps would improve the sound, might try that next time.
Nothing really going on tonight, will exercise and stay in
Will get up to 38 today
I do Zoom site for Bible Study. It works fine for me until more than one person tries to talk at the same time. (I have hearing issues, so this works better for me)
@nursej22, you said yesterday:
QuoteFor anyone following the Olympics, do you have any favorite events you like to watch? I enjoy the moguls, the trick skiing and snowboarding, sledding, and speed skating. Oh, and figure skating. But I miss Scott Hamilton and Dick Button doing the commentary.
I love figure skating and just about any skiing event. (I don't know all the event names)
That one event where they ski, then stop and shoot, then ski some more. I'm exhausted when they are finished. LOL!
I've tried my best to figure out Curling. It is so quiet and they glide so effortlessly across the ice. And, I have no idea how anyone wins.
Hope all are staying healthy, warm, and safe.
Good morning!
Joe, hope the day isn't that busy and you can get through the day with ease.
sirI, I hope you have a good day.
A lot of the choirs here in Florida don't sing with masks, but I think people can watch virtually. We have no mask mandates here. What's interesting is that our rates of infection are following the same trajectory as other places. It dropped 33% last week. I have decided to no longer where my mask myself in public. Don't know if that makes me a foolish Floridian or not. I'll put it back on when rates start to climb again...and they will.
Curling apparently came to our attention when the US team won the gold in 2018 and hasn't been in the Olympics that long. But it's having a moment.

The landscaping company delivered their Bobcat that will clean up the back yard and supposedly they will be here around 11:30. I'm going to go to yoga anyway as they can start without me and will likely not finish up. With their record, not sure they'll even start on time anyway.
Rain chances are 100%, so not even sure they will make it today.
Hope everyone has a good day.
Our covid rates are leveling, but still relatively high. We don't get a report about % of positive. The system is chronically overloaded, and home tests are likely not reported. I do know that the hospital still has a lot of patients, and deaths have not declined. Many nursing homes have positive staff and residents, leaving them critically staffed. The jail and the mission have high rates of positive cases. Dh had to deal with an irate customer who called him a MF SOB at least 7 times, besides reminding him how much business he does with them, and who his family is. The guy keeps threatening to never come back, and dh wishes he would just carry out that threat. All because dh's company mandates masks for the customers while inside the store.
Weather is overcast, threatening rain. I was up super early to take dh to the airport. He is going to a trade show for 2 days, in California. While he is out of town, youngest ds and I are going to get take-out Indian food. Ds got a job finally as a truck driver. He will be driving out of Oregon, so he will need to move. He is of course, nervous, but we will of course help where we can.
I couldn't stay awake to watch all of the men's figure skating, but I did see the winning jump in Women's Big Air. Eileen Gu. She spun 4 1/2 times, plus rotated twice.
Joe, regarding sound issues. I have found sometimes using earbuds helps,
Good day, all
?Hello~ it's me ~ my name ain't Pinkie Lee....? (anyone remember him?)
It's still chilly and breezy, but partly-to-mostly sunny. It is supposed to be sunny and warm up during the next 3 days, so we should see temps in the low-to-mid 60's by Friday. This is a weird Winter here. But I LIKE warm temps!
The Ford will be ready to pick up sometime this afternoon. At first all they could find wrong was a crack in a plastic elbow tube that connected two vacuum lines, so they were sucking air. Then the check engine light stayed off for a while. They couldn't run a diagnostic test if the light stayed off because it wouldn't 'throw off a code'. Later they tried starting it to move the car and it gave them a fit trying to get it re-started, and low and behold, the check engine light came back on and they hooked the car back up to the computer and it turns out the car needs a new starter. Uhhhhh, I'd say: D'Oh! Prolly coulda had it figured out and fixed if they weren't having to rely on a computer to tell them what would seem -to me- to be an obvious fix. I used to say I should've become an auto mechanic, but since computers are used to think for them now, mechanics can't do anything unless the computer says so. And we all know how computer savvy *I* am!! ?
Fortunately this is Nannie's car and so it is to be paid for ($300-$400?) from her checking account, so that's the best thing of all! ?
I think Nathan Chen's last skate is sometime tonight....hope I don't miss it! He is just THE best. There was a tall, thin, angular Russian (female) skater whose name I can't pronounce or spell, who skated last of the women's free-skate(?)...maybe night before last. She came in 1st for that skate, and she was so interesting to watch. I could tell that she was quite familiar with yoga because her actions with her arms and shoulders reminded me of yoga poses, and weren't anything I'd ever seen other skaters do. I'd like to see her skate again, but I dunno if I will be able to or not.
The usual siesta is in progress in the den. Nannie and Ozzie each have blankets draped over them, hubby's hands are jammed in his hoodie pockets. My fingers are cold because as usual it isn't exactly warm in here. I sit on my hands or tuck my hands in my armpits between typing sentences; not terribly efficient, but I don't want to wear GLOVES in the house. I have a pair with the fingertips 'free' style but they won't warm my fingertips, so no sense in wearing them. But I better locate my 'wristies' to keep the cold air from blowing up my sleeves, at least that will help.
Stepping out for now---may be back later---
Stars, glad they were able to figure out Nannie's car, albeit with the computer.
With Nathan Chen's perfection in what he's done so far the weight of America is on his shoulders. But he's so focused, he can pull it off. The Japanese usually dominate in male skating in the recent past. Wishing him luck. Will have to watch online.
J22, glad your son found a job but too bad he has to move. I can't believe that people get so upset about having to wear a mask. Sometimes you wish you could tell a person that will not be satisfied no matter what you so to go to hell and never come back to your location. I know I wish I could tell that to some patients that complain about every little thing over and over again.
Covid here while dropping 33% in a week remains problematic because it dropped from such a high level and a 33% drop is still high. I also believe that home tests are not being counted. I did a home test that was negative and reported it to no one but I would have reported a positive test. Hospitalizations where I work dropped by 100 patients in seven days, but again it's coming from a high level so it's still over 300 patients.
I'm pretty happy with the yard work. The leveled it all out and got rid of a lot of just. There's still some roots that need trimming but I'll get to that. Next up is new fencing. Always something.
