Tweety hope his cataract surgery goes OK

Stars that does sound aggravating

Ado I hope they get your flight rebooked

Dianah sounds like a fun time, glad the weather was good

Was a nice quiet day at work yesterday, which was good as I was a bit tired.  Had time to do laundry.  Rest of the day was pretty quiet too, had a Zoom meeting with the events committee for the gay group. Rained a lot in the evening but the storms weren't bad.

Today should also be a pretty ordinary day at work.  After work will do the grocery shopping and exercise

Will be cooler today, lower 80s, might get a little more rain

Good morning!
Joe, hope you have a good day.

Ado, safe travels.  Hope they were able to rebook your flight at a convenient time for you.  Sad about the shooting.

Dianah, glad that LuLu is doing well.  Sounds like a good time.  I enjoyed your pics on Facebook.

Yes, I 100% pay everything online and do not keep a checkbook or write anything down.  I can look at my bank account on my phone and see an instant balance when I spend something like at the grocery store.  All bills are paid automatically except my credit cards which I pay in full whenever I use them.  I use one for Amazon and the other for other expenses and I like getting points to redeem for cash to get more Amazon stuff.  LOL.  If I can do something online like make an appointment (such as for car maintenance, haircut or Dr.'s appointment) I will because I hate the phone.

Going to take best friend for his cataract surgery and his show up time is a late 15:45.  I might go to yoga which I've been skipping due to my intestinal issues.  They have an express one hour class at 11:00 I'm thinking of going.

I'm doing a little better but still have the infection and am going on antibiotics again for a week.

Got up at 8 AM and fed Tinker, got some coffee, took my AM meds, and went back to sleep. Around 12:15, Tinker barked once and took off for the den, I heard water running and realized SiL was here getting Nannie up, which is a real blessing because boy-oh-boy do my hips and lower back ache! Even taking my meds early and putting a heat wrap around my lower back hasn't helped a whole lot. We aren't supposed to get any rain today although it is cloudy and looking like it wants to......and to make a liar out of me, the sun just showed up  big-time. 🌟 BiL is here mowing the lawn again.

I still have to do my laundry, and I am going to do it before any of Nannie's wet stuff gets washed.( ME FIRST today! ) And the dishes need to be done because I didn't do them yesterday. The kitchen is a heaping mess, as is my room. I NEED to take the time while SiL has Nannie out (though it might not be a long time she is gone. She is only taking her to do her nails).

SiL says she is revved up today because they started her on Prednisone for her (long-term) lower-back pain. I'd love to feel revved up, but I don't want to take any Prednisone to make it happen! It is tough to 'get going' when you wake up aching and in a low mood. Wish I could perk up some; it makes me discouraged to wake up to CHORES and TASKS and the ever present TO-DO list. (Cue Neil Diamond singing "The Story Of My Life")

Okay, instead of continuing griping, I am going to get my laundry and at least get THAT started! *sigh*

No Stars, I read your first line as "Got up and fed Tinker some coffee..."  😮😮😮  Yah, then I re-read it and got it all straight.  I hope your aches and pains are better by now.  I recently ordered a balm called "Aches and Pains," hopefully it will help when I need something but don't want to take pills.

I slept well last night, though both dh and I admit to feeling a little sluggish today.  Post-festival let-down, I dunno!  I need to go over sometime today and get some lab work done, in anticipation of my Thursday Cardiology appointment.  It's just a routine, annual check; last time I saw my Cardiologist, she said she wanted to see me once a year so she can listen to my heart.  Apparently mitral valve repairs last around 6-7 years; mine is going on 10 years now.  I listen every now and then, and don't hear any regurg.  Nor have I gone into a-fib.  Rhythm is still regular.  Count our blessings, right?

Then, I am scheduled to walk with S at 6:30.  She has had a cyst behind her knee for a few weeks, and was instructed to not do her long, strenuous walks (she was walking at least an hour, six days a week, with a different friend every day, LOL!).  She had the cyst drained two weeks ago, and is now rarin' to go!

LuLu is affectionate, her usual vocal self, and no longer leaving little coin-sized spots where she sits.  She is eating well, and eliminating per design (and in the litter box!).   She seems happy to have us home -- and we are happy to see the four cats!  They are all special, in their own way.

I sent an email, containing this year's impressions, to one of the festival organizers, who plans to meet up with the festival owners in a couple weeks, to discuss how the whole thing might be improved next time (hopefully there IS a 'next time').  This year, the festival ownership and organization was taken over by the Antique Gas and Steam Engine Museum.  Actually, it was handed over last year, and this is the first festival presented by the new owners.  There were a couple transition years before, where the old leadership advised and mentored the new.  The AGSEM has put on tractor shows and antique shows, etc, but never a bluegrass festival.  And bluegrass festivals are different than tractor shows.  So, I sent my observations, both pro and con, as requested.  If they organize it again, next year, we will certainly go, to support AND we enjoy the camping and jamming.

Well, that's it for now.  Have a good afternoon and evening!

As I was taking Nannie's dirty laundry out of the washer so I could put MY laundry in to wash, SiL came back with Nannie (that was fast!). But the good news is that she thinks she may have found one or maybe two women who might be a "good fit" for Nannie's "one-afternoon-a week"....I think they are just customers familiar with Nannie. She said one of the women and Nannie sat and talked the whole time and seemed to get along real well. That woman said she also has a friend that might be available.....so SiL will talk with one of them on the phone this afternoon. ~*fingers crossed!*~

I don't think I should say why, maybe just out of concern for it being read here.....but neither of the other two that SiL already talked to are at all worth hiring. SiL and BiL are familiar with both of their families and the consensus was "Nooooooo....."

SiL also said she is going to come over tomorrow morning to get Nannie up and ready, and take her to daycare, which was nice news for me! Maybe my mood will lift a little knowing that. Meanwhile, The Laundry Spins (wasn't that the title of some old soap-opera?) and after I switch the loads, I will go to the kitchen and attack the dirty dishes. Nannie is sitting with her eyes closed and if I adjust the recliner to lay back some, MAYBE she will go to sleep? Maybe!

dianah, It's a thousand wonders you have any fingers left after all the festival jamming you did. It made me think of when John Lennon yelled out at the end of one of the Beatle's song: "I'VE GOT BLISTERS ON MY FINGERS!"

Oh yeah, I feel it!  The first two hours are OK, and then my fingers get painful, and we just keep playing, and then they don't hurt as much.  Then, later on in the day, when we jam again -- yah, I know they are sore, but we keep playing, and they - I dunno, maybe they get numb!  I think we probably jammed at least six hours per day.  The calluses by now (after this festival) are pretty good, LOL!  Other friends jammed till 2 or 3 a.m.  We don't do that anymore.  Midnight we usually quit (we're all getting older!).  It's cool to hear new songs, plus do familiar ones.  There are SO many bluegrass songs to do, and they are usually easy to play in a jam -- only 2 or 3 (sometimes 4 ) chords, and once you get the pattern of the song, you're good to go.  It's satisfying for me to be playing in a circle, hearing ppl sing and play together.  🙂

Stars, hope the aches and pains get better.

I seemed to have a bit of a relapse in GI symptoms but started the antibiotic today. after a good day yesterday.   Please  let this stop this food poisoning madness.  It was a bit of a drive to the surgery center so I took some Imodium.  Doc says to take it sparingly especially if I was traveling or something.  TMI. But it seemed to help.

Best friend's cataract surgery went well.  It was a very fine tuned set up that once they took him back they went like a well-oiled machine.  The whole thing from check in to check out was just over an hour.  He was a bit loopy from the sedative and doesn't seem to remember a thing, they didn't think he was comprehending discharge instructions, but they already went over that with his pre-op instructions, and there's a  handout he can read later.  He's eating now and recovering well.

I ordered a burger and fries to be delivered as I don't have any dinner ready as I had planned to eat out thinking I'd be later with bf's surgery.

My work schedule changed and I'm working Wed. Thursday and Saturday this week to cover my coworker who is out sick.  Worked Sunday so that this week will have overtime.  What was supposed to be four days off in a row turned out to be two.  bleh

I completely and totally understand! What started out to be "just a few years" here turned out to be NINE years.

BLEH times nine!

Glad you are home safely, Ado

Tweety, sorry your schedule changed so much.  I know you will appreciate the extra money, but it comes with an eye roll and head shake.

No Stars, did your pains ever improve? I hope Nannie slept all afternoon, and tomorrow is better for you.

I got my labs drawn, then stopped by the vet's office to buy specialty food for LuLu, to decrease the risk of further bladder stones developing.  Then I picked up a few things at the grocery store, and stopped by the mail store, to chat with its owner.  At our suggestion, he came to the bluegrass festival and venue for an afternoon!  We briefly saw him there, and I wanted to touch base with him.  He and his kids had a nice time seeing the n-gauge railroad area, and going thru the spinning and weaving areas.  They got to meet some of the weavers, who shared experiences.  Then they walked thru the campground, and got to hear some of the jamming there and the bands on stage.  He said everyone was very friendly, and clearly passionate about what they were 'into.'. I'm glad  they enjoyed it!

I walked with S at 630, so dh and I had a later supper than usual.  Will shower soon, and I hope I sleep well.

Have a good evening!
