TMB does sound  fall like, here Summer is still in force

Hi Stars

Dianah glad you found a computer back up that works

Tweety glad that the hurricane will likely miss

NJ22 hope you get a good turnout

Ado I hope the sitter can stay

Hi NRSKarenRN

Work was crazy as I had suspected, got a new case while I was away and got a bunch of calls and documents too.  Started early and cut  lunch short, hoping today is easier.  I suspect it will be, now that I'm back and caught up

Was a bit disappointed with the crock pot recipe, think I'll move away from using the crock pot, as the stove top recipes I've done lately have been more successful

The rest of the day was pretty quiet, exercised and did some more research on  new Meetup groups.  If I'm not going to do the environmental group anymore I should have more time

Church group is meeting for dinner tonight, thankfully a place pretty close to me

Will be a bit warmer today, in the mid 80s, with rain this afternoon.  Temperatures will increase as the week goes on

Good morning!

Today is a reset day for me.  My house is in disarray and I need to straight up, fold laundry, mop, clean bathrooms, shop and cook.

Yesterday they said they were likely to institute HERT (Hurricane Emergency Response Team) between 1pm and 5pm.  I would be surprised if that is still their plan.  I guess it depends on what winds we are expected and if it's safe for employees to drive.  If so, then I won't work tomorrow but work when they call it off depending on how long the winds last.  Coastal flooding remains a concern, but we don't seem to be in a danger zone like just north of here.  Time will tell.  Either way tonight will be windy and rainy.  I hope we keep power.

Have a great day.

Sounds like you have it all covered, Tweety!  Praying for minimal damages and injuries with the storm.  Following.

Hello to all!

If you didn't catch yesterday's late post, the Breakroom icon is now located under the Community drop-down menu. ?

Today we will drive to Wrightwood (a little mountain community about an hour from here, opposite direction from Big Bear Lake) for a house jam.  Looking forward to it!

It should be 104, 106, or something like that here today.  I'm sure it WILL be cooler up at Wrightwood!

Have a good day!

We're in the 80's, with revolting humidity at 76%, a few pop-up showers here and there. The rain will be coming Weds and Thurs. "they" say. We are having deep, distant rolls of thunder right now.

Hubby asked me if I wanted to go to the Chinese Restaurant, and just when I was bracing myself to get up and go to the car, he said, "Let's wait until another day." (Whew!) I'm glad, because he's been a Chatty Cathy for the past two hours, and he's slurring his words. Last time we went to the buffet there, I had to remind him to hold his plate up even (straight) because he was dripping sauce. "That's alright, I don't think I'm the only one who has spilled anything today." ? Anyway, now that he has decided we won't be going, he has blessedly hushed up and is dozing off.

I've been busy today; had an appt w/ the counselor, vacuumed the den, both of the stairways, and the kitchen and front hall, did the dishes after I'd waited 3 days for hubby to wash them like he said he would....We had run out of spoons and forks, and we have to have them to eat (mostly). And I had to launder Nannie's sheets, and our clothes.

It was a terrific ballgame last night, we won 14-4 ! Another game tonight, but with a different team.

Guess we'll be doing something from the freezer for supper---

I don't know if the thunder is a precursor to rain or not

It's another beautiful day here, 87 with 48% humidity and a good breeze. Possible strong gusts tomorrow.

My book club is meeting tonight at "Pool Bar and Bodega" in OKC. Not sure but I might just go ready to get in the water.

Just got in from the house jam, which was followed by dinner at a nearby cafe -- all 16 of us!!  It was good food (dh and I took half ours home), and nice to be with friends and chat, after a great time playing music together.

Resting up tomorrow, and Thursday is one of dh's pre-cataract surgery appointments.

I think I told you, our camping time at Heart Bar campground was cancelled, as they sustained damage from the storm (one week ago), and so far the road (Hwy 38) up to the campground and to Big Bear (the "back" way) is still closed after the storm.  The people we were camping with, most of whom we saw and jammed with today, made reservations at a different campground, nearer Big Bear Lake.  So, we made some reservations too, to match their dates.  We should have four very nice jamming days, together, in about a month!

Hopefully I will sleep well tonight, having gotten up early and then jammed and visited, after driving one hour there and one hour back!

Have a good evening!

Braves won 3-1. Got Nannie to bed an hour ago; no fussing by either 'patient' tonight. Left knee only had twinges at times. Going to snack on a banana and some fat, sweet, green grapes. Going up to rest in bed. I'm ready to read, but I have to choose between The WEEK, a Michael Connelly courtroom drama, and a trash magazine from the grocery checkout. I find those stupid rags funny, and relaxing for some reason. (no thinking required?)

And of course I always do the puzzles I find in the magazines. But I just finished a crossword puzzle book I have been working on. It's weird, but the "Hard" puzzles were kind of hard...however, when I got to the "Challenging" puzzles, I was surprised to find they were easier for me! Guess it's because I got VOCABULARY!
