Hi Tweety

NJ22 hope the weather warms a bit

Ado glad no one was hurt in the crash

Dang Dianah, that is awfully hot

Stars glad that she has been quiet today

Was surprised that work was good yesterday, despite having someone off.  Hoping today will be equally good

Got the laundry done yesterday over lunch.  After lunch ran an errand, exercised, and started a CEU

Had some sleep issues last night, and I think I had another nightmare, something about damage to the car.  Odd because I have them so rarely

Today going to call the vet and make an appointment for the cat.  The vomiting is occurring almost every day now, and hairballs don't seem to be the cause, so hopefully the vet will take this seriously and come up with a solution

Not much planned after work except grocery shopping and exercise and more work on the CEU

Going to be considerably cooler today, I think only in the mid 70s

Good morning!

Joe, sorry about the sleep issues.

Ado, sorry about the car crash and glad son is okay.  Nice pictures!  Glad you liked the book.  The followup isn't as good.

Good job on the A1C Dianah.

J22 sounds like you're making the best of things.

Stars, seems like years you've been talking about "going upstairs and organizing".  LOL. But I hear you, I'm by myself with two dogs and get annoyed at having to do housework and organizing all the time.  LOL

During my recent organizing I found a book I hadn't read that was in my bedroom probably over a year now.

Didn't sleep well.  Waffles woke me up twice snoring.  Then Slowbro woke me up once vomiting but I was able to catch it.  Later he ate a good breakfast so not worried about it as he's been like this for years.  Funny how he can wake me out of a deep sleep and Spring me into action.  Then finally a rainstorm woke me up again at around 6AM..bleh.

My yoga studio opened up a second location much closer to me and I hope to go to a class at 4:30.  One of my favorite instructors moved from the mid-county location to closer.  This time is usually sparsely attended and I hope someone else shows up since it's a new location.

Looks like we got a total of around 10 inches of rain, which caused some havoc and some places got more.  But apparently we lucked out because this was the outskirts of the storm and not a direct hit.  I heard that some places were expected to get 25 inches of rain.  Yikes.

Hello all!

Wow, Tweety, 25 inches is a LOT of rain!  Glad it wasn't as much where you live.  How cool that your yoga is now closer!  I hope it is well-attended.  Yay, a 'new' book to read!

Joe, sorry to read about the cat's continued vomiting.  I hope the vet can help figure out the 'why' and give an effective treatment.  Wonder if this has something to do with your sleep issues?

I have the Olympics on (of course).  I enjoyed watching the surfing coverage yesterday.  Had never watched a surf competition before.  The commentators reminded me of golf commentators, keeping up a quiet chatter in the background.  Many minutes go by without any action, as the two competing surfers sat on their boards, scrutinizing the oncoming waves, waiting for The Right One to showcase their talents.  What a beautiful venue, too!  Shew, would LOVE to visit there (Tahiti)!  Dh and I had read about this surfing venue (Teahupo'o) in the book we read about waves (entitled Waves).  So it was cool to actually SEE the wave-making in action!  The waves are formed by the water going over an underwater, volcanic-formed canyon, which funnels the water onto a shallow reef.  Apparently this creates The Best Waves, most predictable and best quality.

I haven't slept well the last three nights.  Just couldn't get to sleep before 3 or 4 am.  Yah, it didn't help that I tried to read to get sleepy and fall asleep.  I think I get into the books, and just want to keep reading, rather than getting sleepy!  I guess I should start reading the phone book or some technical manual, instead!  I have started a series about two forensic geologists who help solve mysteries.  I didn't know this until I started reading, but their (fictional) business is based in Mammoth Lakes, in the Eastern Sierras!  Old vacation stomping grounds.  The first book in the series took them to the Yuba River (old visiting grandparents stomping grounds); the second in the series is centered in and around Death Valley.  I have never been to Death Valley, but we always see the sign for the turnoff when we drive up 395.  So far I am enjoying the series (guess it is keeping me up at night?).

Have a good day!

Beautiful photos, Ado!

Joe~ Sorry about your cat still vomiting. Hope it is something the vet can figure out, so it will stop happening.

This day has not started very calmly for ME, as Nannie was soaked from her knees to her shoulder-blades. Then, the FIRST THING that Nannie had to 'show' me was her jacket, which I just put on her, and then it was 'look at this', which was the sleeves and how the white jersey wrists showed at the end of her jacket sleeves (which she likes), AND "look" how her pants match her shoes, AND, "look", that bar to adjust the blinds is hanging down. AND "Can I go out today?" (No, Not in the heat, humidity and rain.) She wants some 'entertainment' to enjoy and I am NOT very entertaining.

SiL will 'get' her tomorrow afternoon, shower her, do her hair and take her to get her nails painted again, and then take her over to her house to visit with her 6 year old great-grand-dgt, who SiL also has for the afternoon. I think even Momo has tired of Nannie's verbalizing about her obsessions, as she just dug in and completely buried herself under a lap-robe on the sofa!

I asked for SiL to check in with the Senior Center and find out if Nannie's name has moved up any on the waiting list; it would be SOOOOOO nice if she was to get to go to the Daycare program a few days a week.

Yeah, Tweety, my room! I am not always particularly neat, and I also only get short amounts of time to do small adjustments to the room, so before I continue with the big re-arrangements I have to pick up after myself. Pre-cleaning cleaning! Can't manage to complete my plans so many times because of the Nannie-person needing supervision and for someone to keep her company. Unfortunately, we are BOTH wishing she could "go out", and I think we are both a bit tired of each others 'company'.

Well, I am also tired of grousing about the same old same old, so I'm going to hush and sign out for now.

Here comes my 19th nervous breakdown! 😱 😭

Today Nannie has brought up the blinds' "stick" no fewer than 2 dozen times. SO! I am going to ask BiL to just entirely REMOVE the blinds. We'll just have the drapes, because I am sick and tired of explaining, showing, etc, to Nannie how the blinds  work and WHY the "little stick" is hanging there, and why it is necessary. I have had QUITE EEEEEEnuff!

Can't you just remove the adjustors so that they aren't visible?

Nope! And no point in having something to adjust what she doesn't use anyway. We'll just put them in a closet until another time....however long that time may be.

Anyway, she still has her shoes to talk about and her sleeves to constantly pull down to cover her knuckles.
