Good morning!
Joe, hope you like the menu and have a good time.
Ado, hope your husband's eye is no big issue. From what I've seen of corneal abrasions post op they get relief real quick with antibiotic ointment. It's always something that keeps us broke isn't it?
Dianah, maybe that explains the "eyes in the back of your head" that mom's have. LOL
J22, hope the air quality gets better. It seems like this is one of the worst years.
Stars, I noticed on my doc's website that where he is now working has radiology on-site like yours does. I've always gone to small practices so I didn't know this was a thing but that is convenient.
Making plans to go see Mission Impossible tonight. It's a long movie but one I'd like to see on the big screen. Going to make some chow mein and some Korean style tofu if I'm ambitious enough and go to hot yoga this morning.
I didn't sleep the best but went back to back after feeding the dogs at 6AM. I had a weird dream about one of the hospitalists I work with who sent me a friend request on facebook yesterday so I guess he was on my mind. He was sitting in a room and I noticed he had a PICC and he also had one one his abdomen and he asked me to change the dressing and it came out. He was crying talking about his mother had passed away. I don't remember dreams but this was so bizzare that I did. He's in his early 30's, has two very young children and one of my favorite hospitalists. Weird.
"Hot times in the ol' town"--- 95 degrees with a 'feels like of 110" and very high humidity, but no rain in the forecast.
I've got Nannie up, and hubby just came in from his office in the broken-down Ford. I have to go to the pharmacy to pick up a refill for a med which doc increased the dosage of, and, I HOPE he also sent in for my Robaxin refill.
Will come back by here later on, I'm sure----------
Oh, now you've reminded me that I need to get a refill of the dog's robaxin. And both dogs are due for their heartworm prevention. See what I mean about pets keeping us broke?
Hubs had a metal shaving in his eye. He had already used bacitracin eye ointment that he had from previous events and now has a new prescription for it. He has decided he needs the eye shields that fit to your face and don't leave any gaps. I second that idea. He has a pterygium so should wear sun protection all the time that has the side shields, but does he? (to be fair, I probably wouldn't either). I figure my transitions (TM) lenses are sufficient for me.
Glad the knee won't require surgery, Stars, but it is a thought-starter about how you would handle having even a minor health crisis.
I had a prescription for Robaxin last year when my r hip and leg were so painful. The neurosurgeon thought it was muscle pain. I took one, and felt awful, so I got rid of them. The pain in my hip turned out to be caused by my bike pedal clips twisting my foot and leg when I rode. The pain stopped after I got my bike readjusted. This was after 10 weeks of physical therapy and and MRI, when the PT declared I had lumbar radiculopathy.
Speaking of biking, I went for a pleasant ride at the bay this morning. It's still cloudy at our house, but the sun was out by the water. We had a nice dinner out last night, ate at a nice restaurant by the waterfront. dh had salmon, and I had a tenderloin filet. And we had a great dessert, a fresh peach cobbler ice cream.
I don't really have any plans for today. Of course, there's always something that needs cleaning, or organizing. I am going to try to motivate dh to install the new mailbox that's been sitting in the living room since June. And I may start looking for a new dog. Sigh.
Need to line up haircuts for all of us, but hopefully not all of us on the same day. Hubby looks like a homeless old man, and I have got to get him into the bathtub to sit on the shower seat and so I can scrape/scrub all the grime off of him. Then, once he has been cleaned-up and had his haircut and beard trim he MIGHT feel a little better. Of course, his lack of self-care is due to his deep depression and YES, the vodka. I also think he has some chronic bronchitis going on, but I don't know what it will take to convince him to go to the doctor for that. (cough-cough-COUGH-COUGH!!)
Ballgame is on tonight at 7:20 PM. I sure hope hubby and Nannie don't get into it again tonight. Last night I had to yell ,"STOP IT! Both of you just STOP it!" Nannie, like a little kid: "He started it!" I said, "I don't CARE! Both of you just QUIT!"
In a little while I am going to ask hubby to PLEASE stop aggravating Nannie, between supper and bedtime, even if she is being an a-hole to him. Don't know how it will go over, but if he starts in on how irritating and aggravating she is, I will tell him to start calling nursing homes to get her placed. I will also have to remind him that she has dementia/Alzheimer's and although her "real" personality does keep rearing its ugly head, she can't answer his questions. I will have to remind him to STOP asking her if it is time for her to go to bed. The more he does that, the more she stubs up and says she is NOT going to bed. Then he says that if she goes to a nursing home she will have to go to bed when they tell her to. The whole thing is STOOPIT. All *I* have to do is wheel the walker in front of her chair, and say, "Nannie, it's ten o'clock and time for you to go to bed now." Hubby wants to know why she doesn't give ME any grief about going to bed. (It's because I am not drunk and asking her repeatedly or pushing at her verbally, about bedtime.)
Anyway, that's the gripe for the day.
j22, I wish I could go adopt a dog and 2 cats! But I don't need the addition of all the care-giving they would require, while I am going through all this crap.
My bro in California says the fires burning now are about 25-30 miles away. They got their power back, but it may not last for long if the fire starts heading in their direction. Don't ask me WHERE in California he is because he has moved 4-5 times already; I just know he is not in So. Calif. because where he is there isn't flooding. (Anyway, ask tmb, and he will tell you I am geographically challenged)
Going out to put down more deer-food. The doe with two babies brings them up earlier than when the rest of the gang shows up to nosh.
Ya, and toodles!

Hi Ado and NJ22
Morning at work was a little busy but the rest of the day was pretty quiet. Was pretty quiet after work too, just exercised and that was about it
After some more emailing it looks like we have a location for next year's family reunion, although the date is still being debated, though at least we've narrowed it down to 2 weekends
Today have a dinner with one of the gay groups. Will be a prix fixe menu, not exactly sure what we'll be getting
Going to be hotter today, in the upper 80s
