Tweety glad your premiums are lower and work was good

Dianah wow I did not know Disney tickets got that expensive

Ado I think that's common, I got an oven thermometer and found out my oven does run hot

Stars glad you got a break from her today

NJ22 hope you feel better

Work moved at a good pace yesterday, no new cases, nothing unexpected, a bit busier in the afternoon than I had expected but not bad

After work was busy.  Went to the local pharmacy to get the first Shingles vaccine.  Scheduled the 2nd one after I got home.  Then exercised, and participated in a Zoom call with the gay group's activity committee

Today feeling the effects of the vaccine, shoulder is quite sore and have some mild chills and fatigue.  Nothing unusual today, will do grocery shopping after work, will exercise if I feel up to it

Going to be quite a bit cooler today, only in the lower 50s

Good morning!

Joe, the shingles vaccine is the only vaccine I've ever reacted to.  Hope the symptoms are mild.

Disney World here is probably less expensive than California but two people can spend $300 and then there's parking and food and drink, and perhaps souvenirs that easily drive the price up to $500 per couple.  Attendance is expected to go down this year due to economic uncertainty and Canadians not wanting to visit America.

I'm got a text that my refrigerator will be looked at between 8AM and 5 pm but hopefully will be able to get an update with a more exact time frame soon.  I lost some fresh food.  The freezer is thankfully working.  I would be nice to have it fixed today but most likely it will be a "we have to order parts that will take a couple of weeks" scenario.  I'm being overly negative, but life made me that way.  LOL

Otherwise should be a routine day with some chores.  Probably going to make a basic Thai red curry tofu dish.

What a difference a day makes! My coughing has greatly decreased and dh says I look less angry. It seems my sick face looks a lot like my resting b face, LOL. It looks to be an overcast day. I will set out on my dog walk soon. I need to vacuum and dust, which will normally help my allergy symptoms, and change the sheets. Exciting stuff, eh? And I should actually think about cooking something for dinner. I've been so tired from jet lag followed by this cough nonsense, that it's been "fend for yourself" suppers for the last week and a half.

I think my oven heat is low. I bought a thermometer once to check it, and then misplaced it. I do know that cookies take longer to bake, unless I boost the temp by 25 degrees. That reminds me, dh was baking potatoes the other night. We just put them in the oven uncovered. He said he poke holes in them, but one exploded all over the oven. He cleaned out the next day with the shop vac. Not the way I would have done it...

Appliances are getting to be as expensive to repair as automobiles. Gone are the days when I had my do it yourself book and fixed stuff myself. Now you have to have chip readers and things. Our fridge is a little noisy, and the ice maker stopped working, but Im not looking to replace it anytime soon.

Any vaccine I get (and I've had all of them), my body says "meh" and I don't have any reactions. Once or twice when a certain pharmacist gives me the shots, the technique or something is "off" because her shots do make my arm ache at the injection site for a little while. But it isn't the vaccine, it's her. I have wanted to say, "Look, let me show you how to do it." but naturally I don't say a word. But I can brag a little and say that any time I have done a vaccine shootings arranged by my agency, EVERYONE said I give a really GOOD injection. Even the pharmacists told each other to go have ME give them their shots. That was before the pharmacists started doing the injections routinely.(Patting myself on the back, here!)

I don't know WHAT is going on with my body, but for the past 3 or so days, I have been experiencing hot flashes again! Can't say I am liking it too much; I have already "done my time" with them, years ago, so I don't understand the re-run of this lovely symptom of menopause. I mean, like, been there/done that!

Once again the sink is heaped with dishes, cups, silverware, and this time, the crockpot I used a few days ago, etc. That's what happens when ya actually cook instead of just nuking the suppers. Oh, yeah, and also when all you do is put the dirty stuff in the sink and walk away. The trash needs to be emptied, and I am sure if I look I will find some laundry, but I don't really want to search out more housework.

I am being paranoid and wondering if SiL has somehow gotten onto AN and reads my posts. It seems for the last couple of weeks she has stayed away from Nannie's more often than not. But I can't help thinking of how, when people "eavesdrop", they will hear something they don't want to hear or don't like. Like Wayne Dwyer wrote once: "What you think of me is none of my business." So, if she is here, I'll just say 'read at your own peril.' I do tell her that she does toooo much, with all her days lined up and filled with tasks, plans, and chores, etc.  She is still hurting in her lower back, however she says it feels better when she just carries on as usual. But, maybe she just doesn't like me telling her she needs to slow down some, I dunno. Might be, also, like Nannie, she is not very fond of my YANKEE-ness. Too bad, so sad, because I can't change who I am, and I really, honestly don't try to be offensive to the Southern "ways". Oh well, nothing I can do about it. Like I said, maybe I am just being paranoid.

Nannie is in one of her favorite outfits which she has made sure to show me a dozen times already, as if I've never seen it before and didn't put it on her 45 minutes ago. That much time passing is why she keeps showing me;  she doesn't remember. And one of the things that always gets me is when I am taking her clothes off to put her pj's on, she always remarks that she wants to keep what I am taking off her. As if the clothes are going to somehow disappear! I tell her that I am just going to hang them up or wash, dry and fold them for the next time she wears them, and they aren't going anywhere, they are all in her room because they are HER clothes. But what I say in response doesn't stick with her, so.......I will cool my jets on the matter.

She is already dozing off in her recliner. Maybe we'll have another quiet afternoon!

j22~ I always referred to what you call 'the resting b face', as my "Boston Subway Face" which communicated "DON'T MESS WITH ME!"

Joe, I hope the vaccine side effects go away quickly. I had a hard time with the shingles vaccines. But it was just one night or so.

LOL about using the shop vac to clean the mess in the oven from the exploding potato!

My oven needs a good cleaning. I hate to run the cleaning cycle on the weekend when Twin B needs to sleep during the day ... the air quality gets pretty bad even with windows open. We need to replace some screens that the dogs were hard on, and if the window is open with no screen, it is highly likely that a cat will find his way out.

Over the weekend I did a thorough clean-out of the refrigerator. Sometimes I wonder if we are just messier that other people. Anyway, it's nice and clean now. The freezer will be next but it doesn't get as bad as the refrigerator. Our ice machine works, kind of. It just doesn't work well and so gets clogged. But I sure don't want to go back to using metal ice trays. Remember that? My mother almost always had tea for our meals so we filled glasses with ice for the warm tea. It was such a nice thing when we got those flexible plastic non-stick ice trays that you just twisted and out came the cubes! I have not used ice trays in many years.
