Well, our "big storm" was about 30 minutes of hard rain, two booms of thunder along with two fierce bolts of lightning. Today is going to be sunny and mild, and by the end of the week we are supposed to hit UGH-90 degrees! Good time to stay inside, methinks!
I was at the dealership for 4 hours yesterday! But I did get 4 new tires, which were aligned and balanced, and a (sort of un-needed) complete inspection, and for all that I paid a eye-rolling $981.54. I paid for half with a check and the other half by credit card. Those new tires are noisy with all their really fresh treads!
Last night I noticed Nannie coughing and sneezing a LOT, and her voice is quite nasal-ly. I went up to my room and took 1000 mg of Vit C, and also Zinc and Echinacea. I will take some more of those cold-proofing supplements, just in case. She says it is allergies to "p-p-p-p, oh, YOU know..." (pollen). But it sounds worse than an allergy to me. If this cancels her Wednesday Day Care, I will......I don't know what, but I won't be pleased, that's for sure. At least all the symptoms made her agreeable about going to bed at 9:15 PM.
Welp, time to get dressed and go through the same-old-same-old.
Love the photos, J22. The hospital sounds like an interesting piece of history.
We did get some small hail the other night. There are storms in the forecast today. One meteorologist said something like "the risk for severe weather is low but if there ARE storms they will be bad ones." Now you know as much as I do which isn't much.
It is a "death by webinar" day so I'm going to get back to the fun.
Love the new photos, j22! Now I am wondering about the Dutch food you aren't fond of! Ever take one of them-there food-photos before eating (or trying to eat) ? Not crucial. I'm just curious of what a meal might consist of, and if it is bland and tasteless, too sweet, too fatty, very heavy on the carbs, or what? Certainly not hot and SPICY! Not the Dutch!
Nannie is still honking and sneezing, sniffling and clearing her throat. I took my Vit C, Zinc and Echinacea again, just to be safe. She didn't want supper, but she said she could eat 'a little something', so I gave her fruit salad, (and of course, her meds....the most important part of the meal_.), and cranberry juice, and a small wedge of Key-Lime pie, and she was happy. (And I was off the hook!)
SiL says see how Nannie feels tonight (which is 'fine' according to Nannie), and she will check her again when she comes over to bathe and dress her in the morning. I pray she gets to go to Daycare!
I actually recorded a conversation/monolog Nannie gave this afternoon. I haven't checked to see if it is audible, but it was something about 6 different 'events' (several of which never happened), with people I am not at all familiar with who came here doing things for her, and she folded in some of the commercials and people from the HGTV show, as part of what she said happened, and when she couldn't think of the word or a name, she'd say, "Oh, YOU know!" while waving her hands around.
Earlier she was trying again to get the squirrels and birds to move off the patio: "Tshh! Tsh!" with more hand waving. I told her they could not see or hear her from outside, but she said "Oh, they see me alright; it's looking right at me now!" I asked her if she wanted me to open the door and shoo them away, but she was adamant that I not do that. So, instead I had to listen to her give me a play-by-play of what the squirrels were doing.....like "Now it's running over there. It's coming back. It's going over there now." TERRIBLY EXCITING!!
I gave my previous irritation over every bit of her strangeness of being and talking, right to God WHILE it was going on. I DON'T want to get bent out of shape about or by her ANYMORE! Give it up! Let it go! It sort of does help as long as I am remembering to basically ignore her demented perceptions. Lots of "Uh-huh's" and then I just switched to nodding my head. I had my elbow on the arm of the sofa and leaned my mouth on my hand, which was really making sure my mouth didn't open and say something that might set her (and more importantly ME) off on a tangent. Or as John Lennon once called it "a tangerine".
Blah-dee-blah.
She is starting to get sleepy, so maybe I can get her to bed again tonight at 9:15 PM. YAY!
And I am the fool.....my cellphone is here in the den SOMEWHERE, and I can hear it give the occasional double beep which indicates my SiL answered my text from a while ago. But now the phone is HIDING from me. I have taken the sofa cushions off three times and looked in the sides and back and under it, and turned all the lights on and looked UNDER everything, but it is being elusive. I sent my brother in CA. and my sister in ME. e-mails, asking them to call me so I can actually hear it RING....but so far....only the crickets in my head (ears) are chirping and ringing. I am SO frustrated!!
LOL. I left my phone at home this morning. Hubs brought it to me before I even noticed I didn't have it. THEN I left it at work when I came home so made a trip after dinner to get it.
So far there is only noisy wind outside. The boys and I made pizzas from scratch from the video-game cookbook. Messy enterprise that started with mixing the pizza dough last night.
My sister saw my e-mail and called 2-3 times, but it only rang once each time and I STILL can't locate it, She said (via e-mail) it went to voicemail each time, so it only rang once each time she called. I even sneaked into Nannie's room to see if it had fallen out of my pocket when I had to remake Nannie's bed. (Because when I pulled the covers down, I found the bed had been made up WET!) I searched thru the laundry I had put in the washer (but I did not and had not started a wash!) I searched everywhere a couple more times and I KNOW it is in the den somewhere! We will try again in the AM. ARGH!

Work proved quite good yesterday, a little busy but not bad. Had time during the day to get the laundry done.
Rest of the day was pretty quiet, ran an errand and exercised
Tonight will do the grocery shopping and stop at the pet store but otherwise things should be quiet
Going to be another colder day in the upper 40s. Temps will vary a lot in the next week, from 40s to 60s
