Anybody please give me some advice...I once worked a staff nurse in one of the hospital in midlands, I resigned( with a very heavy heart) from my post almost 1 1/2 years ago to be with my kids and become a full time mom here in the philippines. But I really want to go back to my career. Is there any chance I can work again in UK.
thank you.

not at present as unless you have highly specialist skills ( i.e. read management and/or practitioner skills at masters level or above) RNs are not a shortage group in the UK so you are unlikely to get a work permit , becasue EU member state citizens have to be given equal preference with UK citizens

Have you tried approaching the hospital you worked for before? Do you still have your NMC registration up to date? I suppose it would be worth a try.

hi
First you can try the ward you worked for. I am sure they can consider you back. I am just wondering ...how long did you work in the UK? Were you on the work permit visa when you resigned. To be eligible for the permanent residency you must complete 5 years in the UK with your work permit. Did you manage that? If not then it may be a problem because the situation has changed in the last couple of years. Many trusts are not recruiting overseas nurses anymore.
I wish you luck. I dont really know the answer to your problem.
BeforeI left UK I just renewed my registration and still active up to now. Thanks a lot.
