Trying for Gwinnett Tech Fall 2013

So I am trying to get into gwinnett techs fall of 2013 class and i just wanted to start a forum for us to support each other and for info. I still have a couple pre reqs to take but im hoping to do well! Good luck everyone

I am taking the test on the 26th also.

It was very intimidating and has me really nervous. I have applied to three other BSN programs and this was supposed to be my back-up so if it is this competitive I am so nervous right now!

I have heard that the CC ADN programs are often just as competitive if not moreso than University BSN programs. Maybe because of the lower cost? I just know the GPA and Kaplan score Saadia Jackson mention in the meeting is lower than what they were quoting for Athens Tech when I went to their info session a couple years ago.

28th, i was glued to my computer and kept refreshing as they released one date at a time. At last i have some motivation to do some serious studies!!

Hello everybody! I am also applying for the Gwinnett Tech nursing program. I am really nervous about the test but I hope that we all make it and become classmates!

blessed I did the exact same thing! I got March 28 as well! I hope I do well on it! I need my score to be a little higher because of my GPA! I'm hoping I am having a good day that day! :)

Can anyone remind me what classes they use to generate our GPA. I know my overall is a 3.6 right now but want to calculate what they see based on the classes they are using. I thought she said what they were at the meeting but I didn't write it down. Even better, can someone tell me where they might have that information done for me?

You can ask ********* to give you your GPA from the classes they consider for admission. Or you can do it by using an online GPA calculator. The classes are A&P I, A&P II, Microbiology, Psychology, college algebra and English. Hope this helps! :)

FYI: that's English 1101 they use for GPA, not 1102.

So, despite the fact that I have all the other pre-reqs finished, GTC does not use them to calculate my GPA?

The others are not pre-reqs for the nursing program, but they are required for the degree. You could have actually applied for the the program after taking just those 5 courses. However, some of those other courses are also pre-reqs for courses you take in the nursing program. COMP 1000 and one other course (sorry, can't remember which) are pre-requisites for one of the classes you take in the first semester, and ENGL 1102 is a pre-req for one of the 2nd semester classes.

But, yeah, GTC only considers the grades in those 5 classes. And your Kaplan score.
