I was not feeling well this morning and after working a 3rd last night I called at 2 to let my Agency know I wouldn't be able to pick up the 12A shift today and that I would be going to the doctor's office because of fever, congestion and general malaise. I got a doctor's note, am on bed rest now (can't sleep though, which is why I am here) and they are STILL calling me stating that they can't get coverage and I have to go in!
I am furious! My temp has been between 102° and 103° and I can't breathe. I am about ready to tell them to shove it and I'll find another job; this is ridiculous.... Has anyone else experienced anything like this, and if so what did you do?!
I am to the point where I have shut my phone off, because I can't sleep because of the phone calls. It's literally driving me crazy, and I already feel like crap.

I've never experienced that myself as a nurse. So they really expect you to go infect a bunch of pt.s and co-workers? Not to mention you not being physically fit to work which is actually dangerous and one could find themselves in trouble with the BON for that... I would have no problem turning my phone off if I were you! After all, you even have a doctor's note!

When bothered by anyone, I do like you did, shut thephone off. Best to shut it off immediately when you know you don't want to be bothered.
