True Felon Post. Current Status

Published

In 2006 at the age of 18 (arrested at 17) I was convicted of 2 counts felony Burglary. I am now 30 YO. I have just completed nursing school in Georgia. In my area Nursing school will accept you if the nursing facilities in the area will allow you to work with a criminal background. Most hospitals in the area only look at the last 6-7 years of your life. So if you stay out of trouble you can attend classes and clinical. I received my ATT 5 days after applying. I'm told by my instructor that receiving the ATT is a good sign that I will obtain licensure although not 100%.

I submitted Letters of REC from preceptors, sheriffs, probation officers, and teachers. Completed all court ordered duties and it has been over 13 years since the incident.

Not to take anything away from other people on this thread but I'm sure majority of people with felony DUI have received their license.

My question to you guys is: What do you think my chances are of getting License?

Anyone in a SIMILAR situation feel free to reply.

Update: I passed the NCLEX. The court documents took 4 weeks to clear with me repeatedly calling the board every week. Once cleared I recieved an email with my RN number included.

Guys I'm so thankful. Second chances are real and always do the right thing.

Congratulations!
