I had friends in a similar position. They had taken NCLEX and failed it, and that put them in a strange position. Once you take NCLEX and you fail it you are no longer considered a graduate nurse, and cannot get hired for a GN position until you pass. I had a friend who was in an internship, and even though she would be able to retake NCLEX prior to the end of the internship she was not allowed to stay because she cannot be a GN after failing NCLEX until she passes it. On a bright note you can work as a Tech which would put you in the hospital learning the ropes, meeting contacts, and give you support while studying for NCLEX. And I bet it would give you an in there after you pass NCLEX for those hard to get internships.

Are you using the report they sent you (The report from the NCLEX that targets your weakness on the test)? Does Jersey have a "3 strikes and you're out" system for the test? What have you done to study?

Instead of looking for a job, I would concentrate and doing whatever you can to pass the exam. Make that your fulltime job. Take an NCLEX class (I personally recommend Hurst Review - no commercial interest).

I would definitly focus on studying rather than working if you want to pass. I studied for almost 8 hrs a day. I took the Kaplan online course, did every single thing on that website, and passed the first time.
You could always work as a nursing asst at a hospital you want to work at, then you will be internal and might have first crack at an RN position when you pass.
I would lovee to just not work so I could study a lot more it is just unrealastic with all these student loans rolling in...all very good advice though!! I took kaplan twice...not helping I do better with a one on one.. I would do great with a tutor if I could find one...( the first 2 times I took it I got around 85 q..the last time I took it I got all 265)

Persistence is what gets people past the NCLEX. Meanwhile, if you need to work to pay the bills, make certain that the stress of a job does not become a detractor from preparing for the NCLEX or you will encounter further delay. Suggest you get a CNA certificate and job.
how do I go about getting my c n a certificate??

I know it must be frustating for you. Have you tried the Kaplan course? I took my NCLEX RN after the 2nd time and I passed it. Instead I purchased the Kaplan RN Review book and read it word for word on techniques on how to answer the questions. I had the maximum amount of questions on my LPN and the 1st RN exam. This time it shut off around 82. The book is very easy to read and also try Prioritization, Delagation, and Assignment by LaCharity. I used these two books and was very helpful. Good Luck on your future endevors.

If you haven't tried saunders, give it a shot. People that I know used it passed the boards the first time. Best of luck to you :)

I have failed 3 times, and havent worked since the first time I failed, I have been studying each time for the test, and when I failed for the third time in august, I stopped studying and took some time off. I just completed kaplans online course last week, and now im doing the qbank and trainers, and everything else on the website. I was feeling really good about the class, but now that im on my own, im getting really bad scores like 50-60, my highest was 68. Is this how you did..I cant imagine failing again, and im not signing up utill I know im ready. Let me know how you did. Thanks!

I agree with caliotter3. Suggest you get a CNA certificate first!
