Hi all,
I am having trouble getting a job as a new graduate nurse in Miami. I am looking for a bedside position and I'm told that my only option is a new grad nurse residency. I have applied to many hospitals.. Baptist, Jackson, UM, Mount Sinai, but I haven't gotten selected for interviews at any. I have my BSN, and I already passed the NCLEX. Does anyone have any insight or advice on how to navigate this process? Are any of you experiencing the same thing?
Thanks!
Hi! I passed my NCLEX march 2024 and I was applying to every hospital since then. It was not until this month that someone talk on my behalf to one of a charge nurses and it was like that I was accepted into a hospital. Unfortunately, if you don't know someone you will not land any job at a hospital. I was so frustrated and disappointed because I couldn't believe it. All my friends have job because someone talk for them. My advice to you , is the same that I did. Go to a Home and start there and gain experience, and continue applying and making connections. It's sad but it is like that in Miami. If you don't have a connection you will not enter in a hospital. Don't be discouraged and look for options 🙂

Hi! It did not go well for me. I interviewed with a few units but didn't get any offers. I ended up leaving the hospital system entirely and got a nurse resident job at Broward so there's a happy ending at least!
It looks like Memorial is only really hiring for med surg and tele units so just be prepared for that. Getting a speciality isn't impossible though so keep trying! Best of luck to you 😁
