Trouble landing a nursing residency in Miami florida

Hi all,

I am having trouble getting a job as a new graduate nurse in Miami. I am looking for a bedside position and I'm told that my only option is a new grad nurse residency. I have applied to many hospitals.. Baptist, Jackson, UM, Mount Sinai, but I haven't gotten selected for interviews at any. I have my BSN, and I already passed the NCLEX. Does anyone have any insight or advice on how to navigate this process? Are any of you experiencing the same thing?

Thank you! No they didn't mention specific units. They just invited me to the interview day which is like a job fair that lets you meet the managers of all the units who are taking new grads

I've never been to a job fair before I wonder if the interviews are more casual or just as intimidating as a panel interview LOL. Wishing you lots of luck on your interviews!!

I applied to MHS aswell, does your portal still say under review? And if I may ask, what did your resume look like? Mine still says under review but sadly no email or call receivcing any update.

Thank you so much. My application still says under review in the portal. As far as my resume, I was a medical assistant before school, and a nurse extern in postpartum then in pediatrics during school.

congrats! ❤️ by any chance was it a 740 number because I had missed a call 2 days ago and wasnt able to call it back and was wondering if maybe that was it probably not just wondering

you should definitely call it back asap it wouldnt hurt! when I was called for my nurse externship at broward health I received a phone call from a weird area code so it could be them you never know!

They called from a 954 area code

Hey again congrats and sorry for asking so many questions, but if you don't mind answering or dm'ing if its too personal, do you know what day the job fair is? I emailed the MHS residency requesting any information on the date, and I was just told the first week of July? which I assumed meant first week of August, but that scares me a bit because Im away on vacation and was hoping to make it back before the job fair, even tho it seems super competitive my hopes are pretty low of even getting an invite haha

Hi has anyone been able to apply for the Baptist fall cohort? When I search it up on the careers website nothing shows up but it says applications would open in august. 

 

Also, has anyone applied to an HCA position and they sent you an email saying you would be a better fit for their residency and they would contact you? if so, how long did it take for them to reach out to you?

Hi! I believe the applications could be closed now, it was open around the 6th
