hello I graudated from trinity ahm all I can say is that yes the standards are good and you'll really learn a lot.. and the tuition is worth it because in some schools you have to rent a van to go to hospitals and the money ownyou spend on the van is from your pocket.. while in trinity vans are rented and you won't have any problemsnd the good things is that the payment is in the tuition fee already..

and by the way the passing rate of our school for 11 consecutive years is 99%.. and we are one of the top3 schools who got 99% on the July 2011 board exam...:)

that's good to hear ! but are you from the international bsn program of trinity or just the regular one? are you talking about the board exam in the Philippines? or nclex? because i will be taking nclex , i dnt think il be willing to take the local licensing in the PI. Plus, 24k-30k dollars is a lot for the 3 yrs program. Good thing they're working on the federal loan for june 2012. I dnt know,,, haha. im so seriously muddled on where to get my BSN !

I'm on the regular one why not try the regular one I graduated last year so my latest tuition reference is 60,000 pesos... I was talking about the local board exam.. since the concepts are no different you can learn a lot since we are always given exam question taken from nclex books like saunders.. but I dont know hahaha its really up to you to pick which school you want to go.. try University of Santo Thomas or FEU..:)

Im a us citizen but was born and raised in the Philippines. Im a LVN and thinking about going back to phili for a faster and cheaper program. I know Trinity is a lil bit mre expnsve than other schools around.. but im mre comfrtble applying here because of their us program and standards. Plus they will credit taken subjects elsewhere, anyone who has input with the school's performance and international nursing? any graduates from said school?

Hi heddy! :) I'm a recent graduate of the University of Santo Tomas. I don't know much about Trinity (I don't know anyone who graduated there), but I can vouch for my university. :nurse: We constantly get the top spot for the best performing school and the qualification process is rigorous. We also have around 500 board takers every year and get 99-100% passing. Almost everyone gets 81% and up board rating too. I personally got 84.4 which included me in the top 20 performers (and to be honest, I'm not one of the exemplary students in the college hihi) and that's someone who placed the 396th person out of 488 in the class/batch ranking. XD

I don't really know how I could describe my university more. CHED credited us as centers of excellence. Our professors (specially the "legends" as we call them) are so good you can hardly notice the 3 hours lecture go by. They're so good, universities around the Philippines book them to teach for just a day to help their students out!

You will also have professors and Clinical Instructors who are so famous in our field, it might get a little overwhelming. I remember when I attended a review session outside our own (our college holds our own board exam review), the students from other universities started to queue just to get their books signed by our professor! It was so surprising considering how much we took those professors for granted (To us, they're the excellent people you NORMALLY deal with in the college)

If you're worried if you could get your subjects credited, yes you will. No doubt. Some of my batch mates have US citizenship and they took NCLEX instead of the local boards. They aced it too. :) They're now working in the US. My cousin who's 2 years ahead of me went straight to the US right after she graduated (she almost didn't march!), her subjects were credited. No problem at all.

Truth is whenever an employer sees your academic background (Graduating from UST), everything gets easier from then on. We already have established a name in this field internationally.

My heart is swelling with school pride right now. I won't push you like this if it isn't worth it. It's going to be a tough 4 years of your college life but trust me it's worth it. I myself was born and raised abroad. Trust me, there's a lot of people like me in our college! Students flying all over the world just to study in UST-College of Nursing. :)

The college is also tied up with different colleges across the world. I've heard that lately they took a group of Koreans under their wing from South Korea for a month or so and in exchange, the Korean university offered our batch a scholarship for a post-graduate course in Korea. :) The college also recently dispatched a group of students to Hong Kong for OJT.

hello heddy19 I am also planning to attend Trinity university of asia because i heard a lot positive things about this school. I was just wondering once you graduate will you be able to take the NCLEX-RN back in the states. and if you are which state are you planning to take it in? I heard that its really hard to get approved and get an ATT when you study and graduate in the philippines. Anyways are you still planning to attend this school?

Guys as long as any of these schools does BOTH your clinicals AND theory courses in the EXACT SAME SEMESTER, not months or a year later, you're "safe". Then, you will have met the CA BON (and 12 other States) concurrency issues that is rejecting 100% of the recent PH grads application. You must be 101% positive this happens to you and demand it if not or you will be denied into CA.

We're dealing with a 25 year old rule, that was laxed during the massive hiring several years ago, but now there's talk that the CA BON is looking into those renewing their CA license as far back as 2004-2005 for the same concurrency issue. I don't think any PH schools would meet CA BON minimum requirements, top 5 or 10 or anything in between, it doesn't matter as the way the CHED, PRC and PNA set things up.

Just a side note, make sure you also have your SSN as in CA, it's a new-old requirement (April 2010 enforced) before they even look at your application. No more H1B visas, no more hospital sponsorships of any kind. Check the other forums, it's filled with so many disappointed and frustrated PH grads (me too).

Our only options:

1). Apply to other state that doesn't enforced the concurrency rules, you have 37 other states.

2). Become an LVN instead, then try to get into a LVN-RN program with thousands of other foreign grads and CA residents.Waiting list is at least 2 years long.

3). Try to take and make up for the courses in CA, good luck with that, as it's the same if not worse than item #2. You will be asked to enroll in the entire CA nursing program.
