  1. what are the requirements?
  2. Hello everyone just wondering if anyone already applied at Providence Hospital Inc at West Ave. if yes can you give some information regarding the requirements and where to submit?
  3. Do you know employers there who would hire a bsn grad like me to get into informatics? And maybe sponsor me?
  4. What would you advice me? I'm a BSN grad and registered nurse here in the philippines had 4months hospital experience.. Then i havent found a permanent job since its hard to look due to the oversupply of nurses here. As of now 300,000 nurses are unemployed sad fact in our country. I am planning to enter informatics and i dont know where to start, the options i have are plan A take a 2 year degree in information technology and get a job affiliated to that course or Plan B look for any nursing job.. I'm so lost but i know that the bedside is not for me.. And I've really wanted to pursue informatics in the first place but due to the demand that a nursing degree would lead to green pasture my parents forced me to take it..:)
  5. I'm new and will soon be taking an IT degree.. hand 4months experience in hospital.. I'm interested in what your going at let's help each other
  6. I only lasted for a month.. I'm not telling this to discourage you but my experience was the worst.. And so as the experience of my co trainees but they made it for 3months.. But they told me it was the worst.. You'll have 1week of lecture then the rest is hospital duty.. Lucky for you if you'll be assigned at a good ward just dont wish to be assigned at san martin and the neuro ward because the staff there most of them are bullies.. And you will be alone as a trainee you wont have you co trainee with you when you start your shift cause you will be divided into the 3shifts so its gonna be you and the staff.. First day of is orientation and all the staff there would be nice to you but wait till you start the real job.. My first shift i already got bullied by this staff since im not also a ust grad i dont know the protocols and paperworks there and she already scolded me for not knowing anything.. The next was this other staff since she was a senior staf she'd humiliate me during endorsements.. The thing is prepare dor the worst and it is normal to be overwhelmed.. They gave me 5patients to handle i take the vitals do the charting refer to other doctors give medications i do what they do and they even treat me as their runner.. To think that im a newbie they would scold me for being slow at what i do but the reason is everytime i do something to assist my patients or carry out doctors order they would tell me also to attend to their parients while they sit and do their chartings and stuff and they would also give me patients that are q30 vs.. It was driving me nuts honestly it was hell.. But if your passionate about it and can handle the pressure and bullying you'll make it through.. I'm not really into those stuff their unprofessional to start with they also shout at you on the nurses station and in front of the doctors and that's why i quit the training it wasn't worth mu dignity..
  7. Im planning to take information technology then apply for a job related to this field then may 2years or more in the tech world then im planning to go abroad to venture on health informatics there.. I've research about nursing informatics here in our country but its far from development and I dont think the philippines would be using emr's as early as the US.. So hard and frustrating to stay here unemployed and underpaid..:)
  8. What's your advice in my situation.. Here in the philippines employment is hard so i took sa hospital training some paid some for free and in that 4months od training I've realized that nursing is not for me. I hated it got tired of it. I'm planning to take information technology if my parents would allow me will that be enough to enter an entry level job?
  9. but have you participated in any of this stuff or are you abroad already? do you have any tips that i might learn..:)
