I was just wondering if there are any people out there that know anything about their program, is there anyone that is trying to attend, when are you planning to attend? Also what were you experiences if you have attended their nursing program?:wink2:

wow im so glad i found this post, Im actually most likely going ther in the fall for their Nursing program. I went to an open house on the 6th of January, THE CAMPUS IS GORGEOUS, there strongest program happens to be the nursing program, and the whole school only has 1,000 traditional students.

Before you can apply to thier program you have to complete a nursing class the semester before.

Email me if you have other questions.

Im in love with that school!

I really dont know exactly how it works, but for me, I applied for admission for Trinity, and declared my major as nursing. When registration time came around, the nursing Chair advised me and stated that she wanted to make sure that I take the right classes so that I could start the program in the Fall, therefore telling me that I was in the program as long as I complete the required courses. I do have a 4.0 g.p.a though. I dont know how many seats are available either, but I guess that if you have good grades and have all of their prereqs for the nursing program completed then you should be fine. Are you admitted into the school yet ?, and if not you should try to get all of your documents in now!!!

What do u mean u have to take a nursing class first? What is this class about? I called too about the program and they were pretty laid back about not renewing my prereqs that were over five yrs old...AP courses and micorbiology. But they did say that when they see the transcripts they will determine by grade..Hmmm. I like to hear from students who are in this program or graduated from this program.

it an intro to nursing class....you have to take that class at trinity...im already taking at my junior college, so that kind of sucks...

Im going to try apply around May when this semester comes. I cant wait!

oh thanks for the info.. that is great to hear you are anxious to begin the program

Good luck!

I heard it eaier to get into a private school nursing program because there are less students...is that true?

I think that is a yes and no question. Some colleges like UIC that I have read in past posts stressed that its not easy getting into the nursing program. Need high GPA than other universities or even differ Prereqs...Like at Trinity I was surprised that the Science prereqs didn't need to be up to date verses at most others univer that is recommended. I saw at West Suburb college that you need speech as a prereq which was another I didn't see at other colleges. So every university is different. But if you had to compare a university to an ADN program ...well most people can't or don't want that tuition burden. They may want to start working in two years vs. four years. Can be many different reasons. But its mostly true that at some universities that you can get in quick than your local community college. Take most of your prereqs at a community college and transfer out to a university to save money...

Whatever works for you!! Good luck. You will be fine

Hi RN_2B Im also starting at Trinity in the Fall and I'm so excited!! I won't be able to start the actual nursing program until Fall 10', but thats okay. I've been at Moraine Valley for a year and 1/2 now, I was just about to start their program and they changed it around on me. lol So now I'm just gonna go to Trinity and go straight for the BSN!! See ya there!

Lindzey24, since MVC changed their program do you think it is more restricting for incoming applicants?
