Do you mean students? Where I work you must have a minimum of 1yr ER experience and have taken the ENA triage class before you are allowed to work triage.

Hi Oscarfelix,

I was under the impression that under no circumstances can an EN triage. Of course there seem to be exceptions to other 'rules' and I am unaware if this rule has been broken in certain places???

In my workplace they do not.

I'm not sure what and EN nurse is. Triage is one of the most risky places to work. It may look mundane at first glance but, you must have experience before stepping into the crule world of triage. Our er only lets you go if you have taken classes and have worked there one year ( or other er). Well, like most other hospitals, unless we are really short staffed, then they usually find a way to get you out there more quickly. :uhoh3: You know how it is many days we just make up the rules as we go.
