*Tri-C Fall 2010 *

Published

Just thought about starting this thread for students who will be starting clinicals in August. I am starting in the evening/weekend program. Hoping for weekend clinicals.

I just paid for the background check and will be doing the fingerprinting on Monday. I called the nursing department and the receptionist told me that the packets will be mailed out this week.

Looking forward to meeting others who will be starting this Fall :yeah:.

Excellent! I hope I get mine today. I'm really anxious. By the way is there a class schedule (Nsg. 1300 & Nsg. 1450) included in your packet, or do we select our class schedules during orientation? I see the Fall schedule is available.

Hi Nurse2b

Yes, I'm anxious too... just let me start and let me see what it will be like... this waiting ... aahhh...

When I went to the orientation for the Jan 2010, they blocked us from registration until after orientation. Now, that might have been because we were late entries, but you can check in the ADN group if the clinical sites are listed. Particularly for the clinicals, you will have to know your schedules. Do they have something about that in the package you received today?

We may also have to wait until after orientation to register because whoever does not show for orientation or does not have all the requirements met, i.e. vaccines or 100% on handbook review or passing reqs, will be dropped from the program, so it would not make sense to let us register just yet.

Again, does the package say anything about it?

Hi there,

I just got my packet as well. Also, I checked the ADN group and new students will not be able to register until after orientation.

Is anyone else in the accelerated program?

How does one go about getting ?

Thanks SA for finding that information out. And Forever that is a very good question: how do you get ? I wonder if it's something offered by the school.

Hi ForeverLaur,

For , go to the business office and you can get it there for $12/year. Ask them for a printout for confirmation, though.

By the way SA, I was looking at the Tri-C my space and I could locate the ADN groups. Where exactly do you go to find the ADN group?

To find the ADN group, you go into Groups and check out what groups you can see. Now, the nursing department has to add you as a group member; like I said I just got added this morning.

Hi NewStart and everyone else,

I have just checked my Tri-C email and realized that I've been added to the ADN group. From this group, you can get quite a lot of info, and you can buy books from other students. Yes, now we are getting somewhere after all the waiting and prereqs and fretting and.... :)

and I wanted to give out a Good Luck to everyone!!

Thanks for all the info. I also received my packet today and am very excited :yeah:. I still haven't been added to the ADN group; I guess I will give them a few days and then will call them if I don't get added. I wonder what color our scrubs are going to be. The orientation is scheduled for May 25th for the generic program, not sure if it will be the same for the accelerated group. It also says that we will be able to register for the nursing classes on June 7.

I also wish you the best of luck!!!!

Tri-C nursing students wear a specific white uniform, not scrubs.

@SA2009

Where did you take your CPR Training? I received my Packet on Fri 4/23 and orientation is scheduled for May 25th.

Hi everyone! I received my orientation pack in the mail. I just want to ask a question about the background check. I have paid for mine online and wanted to know if anyone has gone to get the fingerprinting done yet? I work fulltime and want to get it done but it says that you have make an appointment after 5pm. Has anyone done this? Do you know how long it will take for the appointment?:nurse:
