Hi all. I recently accepted a job offer in Asheville, NC. I live 2 hours away and I will not be relocating to the Asheville area. Not at this time, anyway. I know there are several people from my area who travel to Asheville to work but I don't have details about their living situations while working.
I am planning to either get an apartment or do a houseshare with other people, I haven't decided yet. In the meantime, I was wondering if anyone had any advice.
Before I find a more permanent place, I was considering staying in a motel but I will be working nights. I am wondering if any motels would be willing to let me check in around 8 am so that I can sleep or if I'll have to get the room the night before in order to have it available in the morning. Any ideas or advice here?
Thanks for any help offered!

One of the local hostels here has a check-in at 10am, you might want to give them a ring and see if there's a chance they could accommodate an early check-in setup:
Bon Paul & Sharky's Hostel
816 Haywood Road, Asheville, North Carolina, USA

There's another hostel downtown as well. Not sure about their hours but it's worth a shot:
Sweet Peas
23 Rankin Ave, Asheville, North Carolina, USA

If you are going to check out motels, I do suggest staying away from any of the hotels/motels along the Tunnel Rd/Highway area. They're known to have had issues with bedbugs- pretty much all of them, too.
People do tend offer relatively inexpensive rooms from time to time.... $250 a month may be cheaper than a motel: http://asheville.craigslist.org/roo/
I've known some people to have success with this site, not here in Asheville but elsewhere.... http://www.couchsurfing.org/
Good luck and welcome to the area!
