Traveling by air....what about a car?

This is my first time traveling and immediately two places want my long experience,(NICU). The first place I can drive to, the other is far across the country. When one goes by air, (I would not drive to Tuscon), how do you get a car? Is it not expensive to send a car there? I have not worked for over

6 months and have limited funds. I know the company reimburses for the air

fare, (with cat). What about the car? I should have asked already. I just signed on over the holidays and soon as my info was out the phone has been

ringing, (I have been really sick until today). I've been offered the closer job

already and well....about the car. What has been people's experience?

If you work for On Assignment, you will automatically get a car with car insurance at no cost to you. I love that co.

When you say 'you will automatically get a car...' doesn't this depend on the assignment? Unless this is something new with OA. I spoke with a recruiter at that company late last year and the positions she kept calling me about were mostly low paying and did not include a car. If I wanted a car I would either have to rent it on my own or they would rent it for me and pay me even less. Of course, I did not travel with them.

My assignment in LA was $35/hr plus time and a half after 8 hrs plus a car w/insurance paid for. That wasn't a bad assignment at all.

I paid for my airfare from NC to CA. Shipped my car which cost $1000 which my company paid half of. So I had my own car. My company wasn't going to provide me with a car and I didn't have enough time to drive it. Everything worked out pretty smoothly though so that could be an option.
