I started my new assignment today and while I was in orientation I met another travel nurse who has a scrap book from all her past assignments in which she collects little momentos from each hospital. I thought that was a cute idea. I'd like to start collecting things too but I'm not very creative so I'll probably just keep a book full of hospital name badges or something. Does anyone else do that?

Name badges for sure. Nice record. I visited a travel nurse at his house and he had them all displayed on a wall.

Don't the hospitals make you give those back for security reasons?

Some do. But if you "lose" it the day before your last day...

I have all my badges from all my assignments too:) I keep them all in a box with other stuff, but I know one day I'll be happy to have them. I also tend to take business cards from the hospital or the unit I'm in and save them. I started taking pics on my iPhone of the actual unit, just so I'll remember what it looked like.
