Hey all...

I'm really interested in traveling to St. Thomas I first contacted PNS about traveling with them because of the ad for oncology nurses asap. A recruiter contacted me within a short amount of time and said that she would try and reach the head nurse in St. Thomas. Haven't heard back from her, island time, I know. So next I reached out to Trustaff, the recruiter I spoke to was awesome... and wants to submit me asap. Although, as I do more and more research I see some true horror stories about this company... does anyone have any recent experiece with them? Good or bad!?!? I understand about the conditions of the hospital and island time- I'm good with that, I just don't want to get screwed over. Thanks for what ever you got!

I also talked to a recruiter at TruStaff over a week ago about a job in SC and she said she would submit me for start in 2 weeks and get back to me in a few days .. never heard from anyone.

I have nothing nice to say either(recruiter wise)....sorry. Much better out there. Advantage RN I have a great recruiter. Sunbelt staffing I know of a great recruiter. And even Onward... but Trustaff...I have to pull my app..I cant deal with my recruiter, it takes forever to hear back and I have heard the same stories you have.

Id look around.

But St Thomas sounds great! Im on my way to Tallahassee for 13 weeks but would to know how it went if you go!

I worked one assignment for Trustaff. I wouldn't go back.

Hi, I was wondering if you could let me know your recruiter with Sunbelt.. I am interested in position with them...

trustaff is all about trustaff, not their nurses!!!

I have done an assignment with Trustaff and they were great! My recruiter was awesome! I have nothing bad to say about them. I also have my profile with Advantage RN and I don't care for them. My recruiter never calls and when he does it for another nurse. He has left several messages on my phone for someone else. Just today, I received a call from a hospital wanting to interview that other nurse. I don't plan on taking an assignment with them. I fill like a number to them and not a person!

I am on my third assignment with Trustaff and I like them. It's all in who your recruiter is. A good one will fight for you and keep in contact with you all the time.

Very true. Often a good recruiter at a bad agency is better than a bad recruiter at a good agency.

I hve traveled with Trustaff they r not a bad company in the states. I traveled with them 2 St Thomas, horrible!! They have the main contract with the hospital which means they low ball when it comes 2 ur salary and other things. Watch them!!

I know this posting is now irrelevant to the original question because of timing, but I am just signing my second contract with Trustaff. They have been amazing to work with! Travel nursing has been a great experience with them=)

Thanks for the input and fantastic that it has been good! However, no one that has only worked for one agency (or even a couple sometimes) cannot have the big picture. You could well find that your current agency is better than all your subsequent ones, but let me tell you, I was at my first agency for four years and when they pushed me out, I was far better for it. Do remember that your relationship with agencies is a business relationship, don't get too attached to them or your recruiter. An agency can turn on you in a New York second, making you feel foolish about sending Xmas presents to their children (yes, that happened to me after what I thought was a great four years with Cross Country and one recruiter).

On a similar note, it is a big mistake to over share with your recruiter about personal or work problems. No good can come of it. The exception professionally would be about scheduling or timecard issues, or if you are about to be terminated. Otherwise, just as at work at the hospital, stay positive about working conditions.

Getting signed up with other agencies is a hassle, but great for you in several ways. It gives you options if your first choice assignment fails for any reason, more locations, a better idea of what makes for a good agency to you, and a much better idea of what constitutes your fair market value in any given location.
