Which companies are included in the "6 sisters" you referred to in your post? Any info on RN Demand?

Well you must still be aware that things are still not what they appear, even at the site your talking about. There is one agency on here that looks really good until you go to work for them. Once you sign your assignment aggreement you find out that for every thing they said they pay ie; travel, license reimbers, etc they take it off your hourly rate quoted to you.

The contract is everything. If it is not in your contract then they do not have to do it. You need to review your contract and act accordingly. If there is a contract violation then contact your Agency and try to work it out with them first. If it is not in your contract, get through this time frame, and get help with your next contract.

We are always happy to help. There have been many discussion on contracts here over the years. Try doing a search here on AllNurses. The search feature is on the first orange toggle bar, 6th from the left.

Let us know how we can help.

I've been with Valley Healthcare for 2 assignments and it's been awful. But I honestly think it depends on the recruiter. During my time with Valley everything thing went wrong from not getting my paychecks on time or even accurate, arriving to my destination only to find my "fully furnished apt" completely empty! I had to stay in a hotel for 2 days and during the first week of my arrival, my recruiter was unavailable! Every week was something bad. At the last minute, I get a phone call from another recruiter telling me that she's gonna be my new recruiter from now on and I haven't heard from my old recruiter since then and surprisingly things have been a little better. But I'm very skeptical of staying with them cause I've been burned so bad by them already. This is my personal experience, but it really depends on the recruiter you have no matter which agency you choose. Hope this helps.

if the first experience with a recruiter or agency is awful, you are under no obligation to continue on to another contract with them. there are over 300 agencies for you to choose from.

but i honestly think it depends on the recruiter.

yes, recruiter can be a deal breaker.

that agency would have lost my business. if my paycheck is not on time, then i cannot work. i have called the nurse manager at the hospital i was contracted at and told her that i could not work because i had not been paid as per my contract. she in turned called someone and i recieved my check over-nighted, and it was correct and on time after that. and i did not use that agency again.

if your gut tells you tomove on, then move on. why continue with an agency that has a history of repeated burning?

some agencies are much better than others. some have better bennies, better pay, better housing, etc. shop around.

I have done 2 assignments with Access Nurses. They are awesome and I would recommend them to anyone. My recruiter took excellent care of me and they were there for me every step of the way. Now I just have to figure out where I want to go next...

HRN has been one of the best for me so far. Travel Nurse Across America was good also. Medical Express/American Mobile was a nightmare and I ended up losing money working for them. I've heard good and bad about CC equally. I personally am going back to HRN with Travel Nurse as backup if HRN doesn't have assignments. I'll never work for the "evil empire"(AMN/MedEx/sister co's) again in the future.
