Travel Nursing?

Hey fellow nurses!

So I'm doing a job search and I suddenly had a great idea! I really ought to be a traveling nurse! I'm in my 20's, no kids, nothing holding me back. The problem is, I haven't heard anything good from such jobs. Aureus is the only place I know that are taking LPNs but everyone is saying DONT GO!

This is really devastating as I think I would really enjoy such work. I worked in LTC assisted living and that's all the experience I have.

My only other option would be if I could work in a company that would allow me to transfer between offices so I can "travel" but I feel like that won't happen.

Any advice? Thank you in advance.

With your history I don't think travel nursing is a good idea. You need to be able to go with very little orientation & help.

I would NOT recommend this for you. Medication errors are not taken lightly in other locations and you risk serious damage to your licensure.

With your current life circumstances, why not consider returning to school and getting your RN license. You will get more education, time to grow into the role of nursing better, perhaps a greater sense of prioritization and responsibility and then after some experience greater opportunity to travel than most LVN roles have.

Based upon your posted history: 3 jobs 2 years, terminated twice after 3 months, medication errors, document falsification. "Failed drug test" with limited LPN options for travel nursing and no solid continuous experience probably not a viable option
