Hi all,

I am in my last few weeks of review before I take my NCLEX. I have no idea where I'd like to live. I just know that I don't want to stay here in Atlanta. I like the idea of New England, Seattle, California, ...New Zealand! :lol2: But I thought the idea of becoming a Traveling Nurse would be a good start.

My question is this: is there anyone willing to recruit a graduate nurse as a traveling nurse? I have heard so many opinions. I need the truth now.

I've enjoyed reading this forum for weeks. It's been really helpful to me in my studies. Sooooooooo much info to be garnished here. I just know you can help

Thanks!!

I do not know of any agencies that would hire a new grad. Usually they want at least 1 year experience. I knwo when the travel nurses work at my facilty they only get a few days of orientation, usually enough to get them familiar with the paperwork. Maybe you could chose where you would like to live and then work at a hospital in that area where they provide a regular new grad orientation. Good luck!

Yes, there are agencies that will hire a new grad. I was offered a position with one, but I turned it down because I thought I should get some experience before doing that! I posted my resume on http://www.monster.com and thats how I got the offer from the one company. I would definitely recommend getting at least 1-2 years experience before doing travel nursing!
