hi!My wife and I are BSN graduates of University of Maryland School of Nursing. She is a certified L and D nurse of 6 years and I am an oncology/med surg nurse of 1 year. We would like to know if anyone knows of married couples that travel together and work and the same hospital in different parts of the US. We want to branch out and travel before our son has to go to kindergarten. Please anybody shed some light on this issue. Thanks so much : )
Matthew.
I know a couple - wife an ED nurse and husband am ICU nurse. They get contracts for the same amount of time at the same hospital, take their lunch breaks together as often as possible - so they always have a friend just in case it's a rocky start.
They have traveled for maybe 3 years that way - all over the country. Colorado, Florida, California, etc.
I had a good friend who traveled with her hubby. They found jobs at the same place, rented a small place, pocketed the housing stipends and made bank. If it's something you want to do, go for it. However, if you do pursue this and you need to alternate schedules for your child - be sure schedules are set in the contract because usually you are the mercy of the hospital.
