I'm a new young traveler (25) and looking for travel buddies. I'm currently in Kentucky :-( but looking for travel buddies to other places!

Sweetgurly25, where is your first assignment? Did you already start on your first assignment and how do you like it? I would love to travel together to CA, it's so much more fun!

@ SonorityGenius, I am on the same boat, waiting for phone interviews have been submitted to AZ, NM, TX and MN. I'm a little nervous don't know what to expect, hope the people are nice!

i start 5/14 on my first assignment. i want to go to cali right after this one in august or sept. when do you plan on going? if you wait that long we can go together then.

I'm planning around the same time to go to CA. Started the process for license waiting on fingerprint cards in mail, did nursys verification. Any tips on phone interviews and what to expect? I need all the advice I can get ;)

when i got my first interview the employer told me to tell her about myself. i gave the best of myself and of course the worst. i told her i wasnt perfect but i am a team player and a fast learner. you really have to sell what you have got. i asked a bunch of questions as well to show how interested i was in the job. i told her i was pretty flexible in terms of floating and when to work but i wouldnt charge. its important to be honest about what skill you are good at and what you are not. good luck landing your next assignment.

which city in CA? which agency are you with? did they give you a good deal?

I spent the first 6 months in Rancho Mirage, which is right by Palm Springs. And now I have a contract in Moreno Valley which is in Riverside County. I'm 2 hours from LA, San Diego, and all the Beach Cities.

Current contract is 1557/week take home. 1099 of that is housing and meals.......... You decide.

The first assignment I took stipend and was able to rent a room from someone for a total of 1200 for entire 3 months. 2nd assignment, I took the housing because I went through another company. This assignment I am taking stipend because I just signed a year lease on a condo. Check craigslist for roommate listings, sometimes you can get a winner. Or check with the agency because sometimes they are placing travelers in same area and maybe you guys can room together. The facility I went to in October hired about 30 travelers.

I am also looking for a travel nursing buddy with Christian moral. I am 29 and have 6.5 years of experience specializing in ICU and Telemetry. I am overly ready to make this money but parents have a stroke at the mention of traveling alone to Cali.
