I have been traveling as a RN for labor and delivery with cross country which working with my recuriter has been not bad. But with my assignment i started last week i switched companies to TALEMED. my recuriter happens to be the owner. I drove 3000 miles to get to this job, d/t the fact i would be closer to home and promised the time off i requested prior to my start. The owner/recuriter of talemed would not put my time into the contract off but he said ill send you an email that will be your confirmation. Well i recived the email and thankfully kept it. Yesterday at the facility i am working with the facility admin stated she could not give me the 6 days i had requested for the 13 week assignment, and that she never approved this. The owner/recuriter of Talemed was called onto the phone with speaker so that we could nip the situation. The owner/recuriter told me i was manipulating the situation and that this was never confirmed and that i stated i told them it was not a make or break deal. Yes i did state it was not a make or break deal but he sent me an email after i stated that saying that my time off was confirmed by the facility. I really wanted this time off for reasons and thats why i wanted to come home so badly. He then hung up the phone on both me and the administrator.

I then went and found the confimation email that he sent me. I took this email to the administrator and she stated "oh Boy he lied to you!" I forwarded the email to the owner/recurtiter of Talemed and he has not responded back. I am lost for what i am supposed to do now to handle this situation? any advice.

He sounds sheisty! I'd go back to the other company!

I am in the contract till febuary and i drove from california to PA to be close to family for the holidays. I just want my days off and an apology really.

I am a traveler... get a lawyer.

Highway Hyperdermic is a pretty popular site for travelers. You can make a post there I think to let people know.

Is the manager going to work with you on your time off, now that she saw the email?

Before you Lawyer Up, you should read and re-read your contract. I doubt you have any recourse other than to not work for them again.

You could quit but they would probably keep your last paycheck!
