Hi guys,
I just found a travel assignment in Chicago. Any idea for housing in that city. I have searched some websites but mostly they do not accept short term, or they are unfurnished. Any suggestion will be great. Thanks a lot.

Craigslist. Post your own ad in addition to looking at posts. That brings offers you never read about: travelers are highly desirable short term tenants because they can pay.
AirBnB. Negotiate. Their market is down considerably because of the pandemic. Owners will be happy to snag a relatively long term tenant even at much reduced overnight charges.

FurnishedFinder.com is a good place to look too. What you need to be mindful of is how large and congested the city is (I'm from Chicago). I used to live in the suburbs near O'Hare and it was a 75 minute commute to my near-downtown job (well under 20 miles) - and that was for 3-11 NOT during rush hour.
Thanks a lot for your answers. I will look into that. thanks

I’ve lived all over Chicago. Most of the time I would sublet someone’s place from Craigslist, I’d just furnish it with the basics...air mattress, stackable plastic drawers, and a few other items. Other times I went with a fully furnished corporate apartment. Corporate apartments are expensive and it ate up a large part of my pay, but I was very comfortable and it’s what I needed at the time. If you are going to be at university of Chicago, check out the flamingo apartments. If you are going to be downtown in the loop, Google “just passing through” and see if they have anything. The flamingo had parking, but JPT did not since it was downtown, but the “el” was across the street.
