I am a burn nurse, even though I have 1.5 years experience in CardiacTelemetry I want to travel as a burn nurse. Is there any companies, hospitals ect that use travel nurses within their burn units? any info would be greatly appreciated.

Not sure if the poster is still looking at this, but yes, there are several places that use traveling burn nurses. One is near me (Arkansas Children's), and I have heard of more. I was actually going to take that assignment, but it got filled quickly and I was a bit nervous anyway never having done burn nursing before. Just tell a recruiter what your specialty is and I'm sure they can help you out. Good Luck!

I traveled to UCSD and worked in their Burn ICU. My 13 -week assignment turned into 7 months. Loved San Diego and the staff was friendly with travelers. Its a small 8-bed unit with a separate burn step down area across the hall. I floated to the CCU a few times, wasnt too bad.
I traveled with American Mobile, but I would not recommend them. I knew some other travelers there that were with Cross Country and didnt like them either. On Assignment has contracts with the hospital and they have good word of mouth- Id try them.

i'd give any recommendations for the UCSD burn unit. it was *awesome*, great staff, great docs, great assignments... just get parking reimbursement in your contract!!
