mo but they are in the critical care forum....thread moved for best response
I don't see this as a critical care topic. It could be if you are taking care of fresh transplants but I have worked at two transplant hospitals that had med-surg floors with a transplant specialty for pts immediately post transplant after ICU, re-admits with complications, and pre-transplant pts. The majority of my hospital's transplant pts are not in ICU
I'm a liver/kidney transplant nurse...what are you looking to learn?
What are your ratios like? Are your pt walkie talkies? Do you enjoy it? Lots of teaching opportunities ? Or would you consider it a glorified med surg ? Our unit is a pcu so I am hoping to get some critical care experience.
Personally I hated my time in med surg. Ratios were too high, didn't get time to really kniw pt or their histories , and most days I felt like a psych nurse.
Anything you want to share is appreciated!!

Is there a sub forum on here for that? I have an interview and wanted to read more about it.
Thanks!!
